Also, are there any cheaper yet decent quality revolvers to consider?

Taurus is going to be your only "cheaper" option that's worth a crap.

Both Ruger and Smith and Wesson make fine revolvers.

What about this brand?
Mixed reviews. People reported timing issues with them. Along with shitty triggers. You're better off spending the extra money and get the Ruger or Smith. Buy once cry once.

Ruger and S&W are both nice, but side by side I’d take the S&W over the ruger.

Both are good, I own both.

Don't buy that.
Get a used Smith or ruger if the price is a big concern. You can get a well worn but mechanically sound revolver for a fair price.

This.
I think all but 2 of my revolvers were used before I owned them.

In .357 I have a GP100 and an original Python that I’ve never shot.
I tried to buy a S&W model 66 a month or so ago but it went for more than it was worth.
Would like to find a 686 sometime
But the GP100 shoot great.

Just bought a used one in excellent condition in the factory box, made in 2013.
I am more impressed with it than any other revolver I have. It just feels so perfect in my hand and points very well.
p.s. I did shelve the factory grip it came with. I put on the Hogue Mono Grip and now I can get my pinky fully on the grip.

I’m on the prowl for a 686-4 2.5” 7 shot. They are hard and expensive to find but worth every penny.

I just bought the Ruger GP100 6”
It’s like, my favorite purchase ever.
So much fun to shoot

Can't go wrong with a Smith or Ruger. Personally I prefer the Ruger, especially the GP100. Can't handle the Hillary Hole...

The 686 is what I'll probably get.
Who around here has thoughts on a Charter Arms?

I have a Pit Bull for the reason it’s a 9mm that doesn’t need moon clips. Heavy trigger even in single action, but I haven’t shot it yet so with some range time it may lighten.
