His boycott is estimated to have cost him $300,000 dollars.

quote:

In his original protest, the musician told the streaming service, ‘they can have Rogan or Young. Not both’.

Neil Young has announced that his music will return to the music streaming service Spotify, two years after his songs were removed as a form of protest against podcasts that were spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a letter posted on his Neil Young Archives website titled "My Return to Low Res Spotify," the Canadian singer-songwriter explained his choice to put his music back on the platform. "My decision comes as music services Apple and Amazon have started serving the same disinformation podcast features I had opposed at Spotify," he wrote.

"I cannot just leave Apple and Amazon, like I did Spotify, because my music would have very little streaming outlet to music lovers at all, so I have returned to Spotify, in sincere hopes that Spotify sound quality will improve and people will be able to hear and feel all the music as we made it.

So you have conviction, just not quite enough to stand by your passions and own it. Gotcha.

I remember when that happened, but not the specifics. But let me guess, he's one of the idiots who was out there claiming that Rogan took "horse dewormers" when that was a blatant, outright lie?

I always liked the Indian (feather, not dot) guy (Rick Rosas) who played bass for him on the Prairie Fire album.

He played for lots of groups and tours. Was well respected and a really good bass guitar player.

The man has been a professional musician for over 50 years.

Must be a sad state of affairs that he needs the money this badly.

Neil Young is still alive? I thought I saw Eddie Vedder give a eulogy.
