To get the discount, it’s a minimal yearly offering requirement.

How does the church know who’s giving what? I’ve never been to a Catholic Service, so I don’t know. All I know is the collection plate being passed around. Is a collection plate not passed around, do you personally hand over money to the Priest?

I just gave you the link. How am I making it up? Louisiana has been giving grades based on test scores for over two decades.

I understand you think it’s stupid but I promise if you see me post something, I’m not making it up. I never post anything on here I can back up because seen that back fire way way way too many times on douche bags trying to look cool

You could have just asked for the link the first place instead of being a douche and accusing me of making stuff up, I would have happily provided it for you. Instead you were so so so sure nobody does that

Then to top it off instead of just admitting, ok I was wrong and didn’t know that, you double down with the “how was I supposed to know where you went to HS” when we specifically were talking public vs private in LA, but not knowing didn’t keep you from trying to call me out did it? All you had to do was ask and not be an a-hole

Simple, hey do you have a link to those grades for school would have solved a lot of this

On top of you not even having basic understanding of the conversation from the very start.

All good though we can agree LA is douchie AF for grading itself but to be fair it’s a way to hold the schools accountable which isn’t easy in LA. And our A+ schools aren’t that good compared to Texas at all. Some AP programs are and some private schools are though.

I’m an illegal alien so the government pays for my eight kids to go to private schools.

You're gonna pay $9K more per year for your kid to attend Arkansas versus LSU (let alone Tech or ULL)?

Absolutely. There are numerous reasons the best and brightest are leaving this state. My oldest is on scholarship at TCU (LSU’s offer was a joke) and the youngest is headed to Arkansas. Her visit to LSU was a farce. Arkansas actually showed interest in her and actively worked to persuade her to enroll there. USL and LA Tech were never even on the table. She’s going to study in a program where she’s happy and comfortable. That’s what matters most.

Neither one of my kids are coming back to this state and I’ll be getting out shortly. I’m a 3rd gen NO public school and LSU graduate and happy to say those streaks end with me.

Look up Darlington in Rome, GA. It’s $70K for boarding kids in the Upper School and they have a wait list like you wouldn’t believe. It’s a fantastic school.

Leaving the state is one main reason we collectively decided to send our daughter to private high school as well. If she had interests in a career where all she needed to do was earn tops and go to LSU (something like nursing, accounting, etc.) maybe our decision would have been different but simply put, she wants more than LSU and we support that.

It doesn't mean she won't end up at LSU, be happy, successful and have a wonderful high school experience to boot but there are alot of opportunities out there that look more appealing every year.

My child attends and my wife and I both work in EBR public schools. None of us will ever attend or work at a private school, and we will be just as successful as those saying it is worth every penny to avoid public schools. People think that private schools are some sort of utopia because they deal with people who can afford it, but they still have plenty of their own issues. They just have different sorts of issues because they deal with people with privilege.

Half the teachers and staff at my son's really good public elementary school send their kids to the private school my son now attends. They know what goes on behind the scenes in the public district...

What brought Ark up on you/your daughter's radar? I've got a freshman in HS and want them to go out of state. I looked into Ark a little and the 90% waiver for out of state looks enticing. What was your process from slight interest to applying? Do you get any feedback from the enrollment office, or do you feel like you are just a piece of paper in a file somewhere?

Sorry for the questions but we just want to make sure we are on the right track as we will be going down this road very soon.

My kids are out of school now but yes, they both attended and graduated from a private school. Public schools where we live are shite so really there was no other choice. Money well spent.

Mine will start next summer. No break between graduation and summer school at Arkansas. Going to be a rough transition, but they seem to take real good care of kids up there.

Have visits planned for April and June…excited to see some spring football practice and a couple of baseball games. Came up for a basketball game, but South Carolina wasn’t going to be denied.
