I remember when espn talk show hosts were claiming that the NBA would surpass the NFL because of the concussion scandal a few years ago. Apparently kids were going to stop playing football and shoot hoops for safety reasons

Die hard Swifties have embraced KC as their own team. Go look at social media/reddit posts during games. Swifties are cheering like they've been lifelong fans.

It felt like watching a Super Bowl in real time, but in a college environment.

and this is why the network puts swift on TV. she brings in extra eyes.

honestly, its been awesome for me. My GF is a swiftie, makes food for the games and watches the games with me. Why wouldnt I want that?

and before I say anything she knows football, and her favorite player is Pacheco. Its been a ton of fun.

frick Taylor Swift and frick the barrage of Chiefs TV ads from State Farm, Pfizer, Subway, T-Mobile, Head-and-Shoulders, and the rest.

But the Chiefs are entertaining as hell to watch.

It was a great game. Mahomes-Allen playoff matchup is must-see tv, just how a Brady-Manning playoff matchup was.

Excellent goal post placement - nowhere NEAR where they started.

As if size isn't an issue. Even as big as NFL players are, the average height is 6'2". NBA average height is 6'6.

NFL may skew down because of specialists, RBs and QBs but in short (pun intended) most NFL players aren't tall enough to play basketball.

I consider myself a grumpy, old curmudgeon, and then I check out the More Sports Board and feel so young and carefree.

The NFL definitely benefits from having the playoffs in January when the weather is cold, dark and bleak. And when you get a cold front with ice and snow it's just icing on the cake.

The most watched thing on TV ever was the 1982 Super Bowl (a relatively lackluster matchup at the time) that got a ratings bonanza from a blizzard pounding the entire east half of the country.

Meanwhile the NBA and NHL playoffs are competing with the start of Summer Break and everybody heading to the beach.

Texans Ravens was ESPNs most watched game ever

Conceptually ridiculous for two “winter” sports.

This is not a driver of the numbers. That was a legit must sit down and watch on a Sunday Evening game.
