Varmit gun - help me spend some money

I want something as kind of a universal varmit gun. Racoons, opossum, armadillo, the occasional coyote are the problem animals getting after my ducks and chickens.
What caliber and style would you go with? Sound isn't a huge concern as I'm not in city limits, but I'd like something that isn't loud or has the ability to shoot subsonic or CB rounds.
Currently have a bunch of shotguns, .270, 30-30, 10/22, a pellet gun, and various pistols.
I know I have the 10/22 but I'm wanting something new

If you don’t have an AR you need one, although they are loud.
Therefore you need an AR with a silencer.
For those though I’d look at either a .17 hmr or a .17 wsm.

Man I’d get a good AR-15 in .556 and put a suppressor on it.
Sounds like you don’t have an AR and I think everyone should own one. .223/.556 is readily available. Fun to shoot. Will easily handle all your varmit needs

My first thought is to get a 300 black out and suppress it. Possibly on the AR platform.

You could pick up a Ruger ranch in 556 or 300blk. Fun little guns and they are threaded for a suppressor.

I’d get a 17 hmr or AR platform .223

I have the marlin 17 HMR with the bull barrel. That little round comes out of the end of that thing screaming. To me it sounds like a framing nailer when fired. That will be the gun I introduce my grandkids to the world of shooting.

sounds like a scoped 22 rifle is a good choice, use rat shot for small pests

I’ve owned and built dozens of custom .17 and .20 caliber varmint rifles. Even designed a custom cartridge … .17 Little Nasty. My favorite is probably the .17 Ackley Hornet. Hornady copied the design and named it the .17 Hornady Hornet. 11.0 grs or powder pushes a 20 gr. V-max 4,000 fps. Have killed coyotes at 300 yds. Super flat and accurate.

Buy a thermal and put in on one of your existing guns

my absolute favorite rifle is a savage A17.
it will roll a 10 lb nutria rat as far out as you can see him.
ammo is readily available as are aftermarket goodies including a Boyd’s thumbhole stock which I highly recommend

22-250 for the win. Smokin hot round and will kill deer if you need it to.

Get a .17 hmr
We were shooting coke cans at 150 yards with one a few weeks ago and hitting them damn near every shot
