SI was going to die anyway. Regardless if they were woke or not. That entire industry (sports magazines) like SI, Sporting News, etc, have all been on a death spiral for 15 years. Everything is digital now.

It's always made me sad bc I was a subscriber for 15+ years from a young kid to my early 20s but they simply got carried away by the flood of smart phones
I used to read them on the shitter but at a certain point it just became clearly obvious I'd rather just read my phone

He had moved on to the athletic at the time. I just meant the pompous attitude and slanted journalism that SI turned into. He was headed that way at the end of his tenure.
