yep his dad is DC at Zachary, has been in the LHSAA and smaller college ranks for decades now....extremely respected around the state

slade was a qb, has had success as qb coach, te coach, st coord and as OC. regarded as a very good recruiter and is really well known and liked by the HS coaches across the state

if we are not going to hire someone with specific ties to the golden triangle/houston HS ranks...or one with connections in DFW...he would be by far the best hire imo.

checks every box.

i do think russ callaway would be a good one too but he is more of a spread guy and this is Kellys offense. always has been and always will.

na its been on the pay boards and widely know in the lhsaa circles for a while that was prolly the direction LSU was going. still not done deal though.

His dad was a linebacker coach at Zachary who retired after the state championship this year, great guy and coach.

Slade does a good job, would be a great hire at TE Coach for us.

Yep, and you don’t hire a TE coach when you don’t know who your OC will be, but in this case, they will be there for the interview. Keep in mind, Nagle still needs the official interview and there is a JF factor I’ll explain at later date
