Coaches hold what is a parental responsibility, almost. They are tasked with creating and fostering a positive environment for growth, learning, and maturing. When something like this happens under your watch, it should be alarming. And yes, it should be considered that you have potentially failed that child. A responsible coach would not just chalk it up to a kid being 'crazy'. Something deeper is at the root.
goodness you have some horrific takes sometimes. it's almost unbelievable except it is you, so maybe it shouldn't be so unbelievable.
there's something really wrong and disturbing when a kid is pulling a knife on anyone. get real trying to place blame on the coaches.
are you in this young man's life or the coaches involved? if not, you shouldn't be judging a situation you likely know nothing about.
tell me this then, how many other players have pulled knives on these coaches? if the environment is so bad surely he can't be the only one. if it's the coaches failing him then surely they must have failed the others.

Could I ask for an update ? Did his suspension get upheld? Where is he in school?
Thanks.
Thanks.

LE is easily the worst poster on several boards. A true universal idiot

His Grandpa has been a family neighbor and friend for last 50 yrs or more and his update to me yesterday was he has been taking classes at alternative school for graduation and conducting workouts with scouts and getting ready to play with a team out of Texas until MLB draft. No update on incident or progress on that front

Coaches in general have failed him if he is pulling a knife on one of them.
Lester, could you explain this position. A lot has happened with all these players, good and/or bad, by the time they get to his age. Where did he learn that it is a good way to cope by threatening someone with serious bodily harm or death? How is understanding that this is way out of bounds the coach's responsibility? What he did is acceptable only in the case of self-defense.
Geezus, that is stupid even for your stupid takes.

I didn’t say his behavior was acceptable. You’re not off to a good start here
Also, not a coach. A 3rd party trainer. Coaches can be pieces of shite, too. You probably trusts priests & policemen too, huh?

I do not trust the lot of them, but you wrote that the coaches failed him in some form or fashion. Stop deflecting and explain why you wrote that.
Thanks

Lester, It was one of your crazy points of view that you occasionally poop out onto the Rant just because you want to go against the grain. I’d bet that even you don’t believe it, and if the board consensus was that this was the coach’s fault you would be saying that’s nuts.

Well, there's always the NBA! Or the NFL!

Every time I think Lester couldn’t go further down the rabbit hole he proves me wrong

In fairness, a healthy skepticism of politicians is not only understandable, but required.
I won’t go down the rabbit hole on priests, but a blanket full trust of anyone is problematic

Why the obsession with this story?
LSU will be just fine without him and he will be lucky to get drafted at all.

So sounds like he's not even in contact with us really, or vice versa there. Sucks for him, he's really fallen way down in the rankings, he might not get much of a signing bonus come the draft.
