Rick has to say something. His phone is ringing off the hook from Florida residents.

FSU would be getting points if they played Ala or Texas.

I do feel somewhat this way - But - football is such a huge part of culture in this country, I don’t want to see us lose yet another American tradition. Further - achievement judged by committee rather than by results is a shitty, subjective and slippery slope. (I think this is a natural and shitty result of the change making these players semi-pro in college-but that’s another philosophical rant entirely and I’m definitely in the minority on hating being able to pay these players). FSU was robbed and I’m not sure what needs to happen but millions of dollars in revenue are at stake and if there was corruption (and ESPN infected the process) - then something needs to happen. I think, if anything, it’s a way to maybe set the reset on honesty in media, and make objective results meaningful.

I agree with every word you said here.

But there has never been a decision this blatantly corrupt.

2011 was just a corrupt, and worse, since there were only two teams that could get in.

It was unquestionably crooked.

The rigged officiating in games that benefits certain teams along with the different standards for "winning" didn't clue many in to how corrupt CFB really is.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. All of the other cheating is to set up situations like this one.

It amazes me that year after year, we have the "GOAT" CFB Head Coach on TV explaining why his team deserves to get a chance at something they didn't earn compared to other programs. This AFTER games are blatantly rigged in their favor. It is beyond hilarious to me.

wasn't Condoleezza Rice a part of the playoff voting committee at one point?

after making millions off Lockheed and Raytheon, she got another lucrative job in the countries most lucrative sporting events.

FSU’s threats to leave the ACC earlier this year didn’t age well at all. I doubt many of the other ACC programs are crying very much for them.

Well, 12 teams beginning next year should get rid of much of the controversy. The committee was lucky, they really hadn't had any difficult decisions since the first year. They just had really bad luck in the last year with four teams.

Let's check on this after 4 SEC teams, 4 Big 10 teams, Notre Dame, Big 12 and ACC champs + an undefeated mid-major make the field.

He needs to bring the heat. The nominating committee was not exactly the model of objectivity.

The ACC had more representatives than the SEC.

This is a waste of time. Even if he found impropriety, which he won't, nothing can be done before the playoffs are already completed.

Did you see the video of the Michigan watch party as the 4th team was revealed?

A gasp, followed by a moan. That tells you all you need to know.

Was it consternation over the injustice of it all? No, it was fear.

What possible basis does Scott have to demand/compel the CFP Committee to give him any of this stuff?

Government has no place to get involved in this.
The courts maybe, if a suit was filed by someone with standing. But Congress should stay out of it, what gives them any more right to speak to this than the executive branch has?

The Committee was not consistent with their selection criteria with each team.

Nor do they have to be. They can quite literally do whatever the frick they want with who gets in.
