If Nuss plays in a Bowl game, its another opportunity for next season's starter, to get all the practice snaps with the first team, and to prove he is ready.
If he is not ready, we can go to the Portal.
This makes a lot of sense.

I suspect Daniels is probably a lot more "hurt" than what you know. All of the guys that play a lot are. That's just the nature of the game. Bowl games outside of the CFP are at their core just glorified exhibition games. Win or lose, it is the same result for both teams. The season ends. The only difference is the winning team will get a trophy and t-shirt. Fans don't like to hear that. But its the truth.
The risk of Daniels getting seriously hurt in a bowl game may be small, but it's not zero. I'm sure he has aspirations to play in the NFL so I can understand the mindset of avoiding risk for relatively minimal reward.
Of course, I'd love to see him play in the bowl game. It's just that I can understand his mindset if he chooses not to.
True. I was very surprised he played as deep into the AU game as he did.

Can you please explain why he wouldn’t play in the bowl game and please don’t “he could get injured”.
Because over the last 20ish years bowl games have come to mean zero to non-returning players. Traditional conference alignments with bowls dont exist. There’s no pride associated with playing in a “good bowl”. It’s playoffs or bust. Fans wanted a championship in a sport that never originated with the intention of having a championship. Fans got what they wanted…but now the sport is kinda sucky.

Dude seems to love playing football. He isn't a diva. He is all smiles all the time I think he'd play.

Jayden Daniels will play the whole season barring an injury. If he becomes a no miss first round pick there may be a chance. I think he looks better being that guy to carry his team and will continue to help his draft stock.

Sometimes someone gives me the inspiration to sign in so I can down vote.

It may depend on what bowl game.

If a meaningless one, I say no.
Be a great way to hand the reins over to Nuss

Kinda feels like this will be more of a group decision for the non-returning stars. Since you're striking the playoff scenario, you're talking about an LSU team with 3 or 4 losses at that point, and the bowl game might be pretty underwhelming. JD without Nabers, Thomas, or Lacey is not the same guy, and I'm not quite sure what the point of JD getting playing time with Chris Hilton is.

I thought the same thing last Saturday. We were up 3 scores late in the 4th and JD5 was still running the ball. It was an unnecessary risk IMO

Clowns like you crack me up. I want him to play. I don’t think he plays. I’m asking the question for discussion purposes. Downvotes and pissed off people do not change the situation. Fournette started it, and that was before NIL and Transfer Portal.
What’s really interesting is many of the people who trashed him for the past year and a half will be the same group who demand his commitment to the Bowl.

Do you honestly think NFL execs give a damn if players play in bowl games?
Hell there’s been players who’ve opted out of entire seasons and still gotten drafted high.

Daniels doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy to sit out.. I think he plays regardless
This!!!
The only way I think he wouldn’t play is if injured

Yeah! I had the same feeling when Daniels took advantage of Auburns defense that left half the field wide open and Daniels broke free for about a thirty yard gain.
Unlike his usual reckless running style, he slid rather than try for an extra ten yds or possibly a
score. It was out of character for him to avoid contact. It left me with the opinion his ribs are still tender from the hard collision with the Mo. defense in the previous game.
He was probably heeding the instructions by the Coaches.

I'm going to say yes because he doesn't seem to be a little bitch.

They (bowl games) mean nothing except bragging rites for fans
If you're gonna go that route with an excuse, then football (and collegiate sports as a whole) mean nothing to the university except bragging rights for fans.
My thoughts - If you don't think enough of your university and teammates to play in a bowl game because of the fear of an injury that would damage your draft stock, then you don't deserve to be remembered by the fans of that team or university, nor should prospective NFL teams have any reason to believe that you would give your best for their team should they draft you.

college athletes have long been mercenaries, NIL just makes it official, they don't gaf about the school

and the NFL could give a shite, they'd rather their goods be removed from college coaches hands and arrive to them with less and tear

Not if it's not a playoff game.
