Is Jimbo the most overrated coach in college football history?

No he isn’t, but A&M being a “sleeping giant” is the biggest lie in college football history.

Honest answer, no.

No . . .despite his used car salesman appearance at the moment, he has accomplished more than Brian Kelly and most other SEC coaches in his tenure.

He is just stubborn dude who let the game pass him by and refused to adjust to the times.

Kelly has been a head coach for 20 years, has 160 official wins in that period and 7 bowl wins.

Fisher has been a head coach for 14 years, has 173 wins, 8 bowl wins, and a national title trophy on the resume.

He is the biggest con man to ever get a head coaching gig at the level he has a college coaching gig. He was never highly thought of by anyone who knows anything about CFB....he rode Bobby Bowden's coat tails, drove that Cadillac into a Yugo and managed to convince the poor saps in College Station that he knew what he was doing. He's Larry Coker except if Coker had inexplicably been hired by some other school for huge money instead of getting fired.

I honestly think A&M is a bad fit for most head coaches, including Jimbo. It's difficult to field a championship team there with the culture they have in place.

Perhaps he does not care about his legacy, and I wouldn't blame him with all the money he has made, but I think he would have brought championships to schools like LSU, Auburn, Florida, and maybe even Tennessee. If he was considering his legacy, taking the job at A&M was a major mistake on his part.

I do not think he is overrated.

A&M has always had those advantages and always been about like they are today.

Checking back in this evening and seeing that A&M still owns the board despite our disappointing start to the season.
