Nick Saban Not Happy With SEC's Proposed Alabama Schedule
Nick Saban speaks to his support of future SEC scheduling model

SEC officials are currently looking to decide whether to move to a nine-game conference football schedule or stay at eight games once Texas and Oklahoma join the league, and in theory Nick Saban is in favor of making it nine.
That new schedule would be different from the divisional slate, where teams play six or seven set teams each season. Instead, each school would be assigned three permanent annual rivals.
But the Alabama head football coach isn't happy with the three teams he's hearing he'll have to play every year: all rumors indicate those rivals will be Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU.

Saban added that the new scheduling format is another positive now that Oklahoma and Texas are involved.
“The way we’re going to do our 7-team rotation, 1-team fixed. You’re going to play everybody every 4 years,” Saban said. “So almost every guy at your school is going to get to play every team in the conference, which I think is great as well.”

Alabama fans have been in denial about this for almost 2 years. They swore up and down it was other schools who were scared, not them.
Meanwhile LSU has been for a 9 game since the possibility arose.

I wish we just played an all-SEC schedule. It's horrible that so many years pass before two SEC teams play each other.

Nick Saban is a lot of things. Scared of other SEC teams is not one of them.

It’s an article from March, the same one posted on here, 7 months ago. I’m sure, Saban is upset that he can’t get the automatic W from playing A&M , every year.

Didn't we discuss this before on here & how he was pushing for MORE conf. games?

This article is from march and there were multiple threads about it then. Sankey got around this by agreeing to 8 in '24, and then revisiting the issue next year when OU and Texas have a vote, both of them are for a 9 game conference schedule.

We already play those teams every year, and have winning records against all of them. You didn't think this through, did you?

I upvoted because I like Nick’s take. Tired of the conference beating each other and watching Washington or TCU waltz into the playoff.

If this happened 5 years ago, Saban wouldn’t say a word about playing Tennessee. But now that Tennessee is good again? He wants no part of them every year. But yet he was ok with UT playing Bama and UGA every year though
