The best Toyotas are not built in Texas at the moment. They are from Japan or, to a lesser extent, Kentucky.

Their new plant in Texas will improve slowly and will be just as good as the other ones.

Is that the new body style?

Yep. Pro4x.

I like their hill descent mode for snow and offroad.

Cheap insurance. Doing a drain and fill you are only changing about 25% of the fluid.

Idk. It'll be tough to make the jump given it'll only be at 190k or so. Last pro4x went 310k before I just got bored.

As for why I'd go nissan one of the big three. No cylinder shutoff. No turbo. NA V8 that likes running in the higher RPM range straight from the factory

I bought a 2004 Titan in Nov 2003.

It was crazy nice for the time and very powerful. But it git like 12 mpg at a time when gas had just gotten north of $2.25 on the reg.

Where the F is all of this supposed demand for electric vehicles? I’m up in MA., and I see neither the demand, nor the $$$ for them???

What am I missing here?

Emission regulations and the car companies are trying to get as much in federal subsidies as they can while FJB is handing them out.

Have a 1st Gen 4x4.

It's an absolute animal. Never had any issues with towing, off roading, or hauling.

Will drive it until it dies. Drinks gas, though.

Maybe they can go back to making a true compact pickup truck that gets over 30mpg

I had to rent a Nissan Frontier once and it did not get even close to 30 mpg.

Will they say because it is not popular? Because that would be a lie.

I remember when manufacturers tried to stopped making SUV for about 18 months.

Nice truck. Never caught up to it's competitors. Only had two generations in 20 years. Was behind from the start and never remotely caught up.

I never understood this. A 2006 Titan and and 2014 Titan look exactly the same. The interiors look cheap even in the new trucks IMO. But what do I know? My five year old ford has been at the dealership for a month with a blown transmission.

I'll give you the steering wheel buttons being shitty.

But... Is it REALLY that different?

Everything about the f150 with the coyote or 2.7 is great... Except what's behind it.

I love my 2017 Titan. Fabulous truck, especially good on long distance hunting trips with 4 guys.
I’ve been looking to replace mine with a new one. My dealer never has any stock.

Of course it didn't. With a small diesel or an Atkinson cycle gas 4 cyl mill I'm sure it could be done if it's in the old school small body pickup.

I think Nissan gave up caring about design in all their cars decades go. Interior triply.

I have never seen one I would consider

Maybe now we can get the real Nissan Patrol in North America instead of one with the crappy domestic content from the titan.

I just bought an Armada I plan to fit out... not quite a patrol, but close. Overseas Patrols get bigger, cast iron cased differentials front and rear, heavier axle shafts, rear diff e-locker, and taller suspension w/ hydraulic body motion control as an option. All this was deemed too heavy and affects gas mileage for North America (mileage stinks anyway). Power is great to exceptional, though (400 hp).

Sadly, they'll probably keep producing the lightweight crap because they need domestic content to avoid tariffs (they ship the engine and diffs/suspension to Japan from the US to be assembled there) and/or the soccer moms on their qx80s will complain about the ride.

Just wish it was an option to get the good stuff dealer installed, those Patrol builds overseas are absolute units, to use Aussie vernacular.

Problem with the gasser Titan is that it was great engine in a completely mediocre package and far fewer options than the competition. 1st gen trucks had severe transmission and rear axle problems in addition to Nissan's usual interior quirks.

I have a 2018 pro 4x and I can get 20 mpg on the highway. I love the truck. I had a 2017 sv before and it was a good one too. I plan to have my 2018 a long time if it lets me.
