There was a time I thought Alabama was overrated and Florida was a lock for the BCS CS. Now that I look back I can't see anyone outstanding that Florida has beaten and Alabama IS overrated.

the way we played yesterday makes the Troy win all the more amazing. How did Troy throw that game away?

Anyway, we're not a top 25 team. That's not news. And you get the feeling this team KNOWS it ain't gonna win another game this year, no point in even trying. I'm not expecting a win v. Arky, but is it unreasonable to think we can at leat keep the game withn 10 points? Seriously, losing to Arky by less than 10 would at least have me believing the team has a little fight in them.

No. But to be fair, when LSU beat Auburn most of us here thought Auburn was pretty decent.

Let me play your game, though and say: I bet you thought LSU was a good team this year.

I did, but have begun to have reality therapy as the season unfolded and LSU didn't show up for the big, big games (and the little ones). With about one exception (the way LSU played Alabama) the Tigers have been average at best, and falling.

Absolutely.

And with LM coaching this team, I think just getting back into the top 25 is going to be a real challenge.

Under Miles,we are now a permanent marginal program that will fight to make it to be Bowl Eligible.

I see us on par with Purdue or Clemson.

I think we're underrated for the first time this year. Two of our 4 losses were to #1 and #2 - they should barely even count as games. Losing to #1 or #2 should count as much as our wins against North Texas and Appie St.
That's the crux. We don't have any quality wins. Same reason in previous years the Vandy's, et al weren't ranked after losing to several SEC ranked teams.

Living away from the South has not been that hard during College FB season in the past decade because LSU has seen plenty of national coverage. Now I fear I will only get to see LSU on ESPN2 twice per year as we fall back to mediocrity. Hate to be pessimistic, but this feels like a replay from my youth in the Mike Archer years. A couple of weeks ago I was fine finishing 8-3...after all, hard to be greedy after our recent run. But the poor coaching of the defense and the lack of player development this year really scares me for the future. We are now staring at 6-5. Yeah...Independence Bowl here we come!!

Just as big of a joke as Texas being ranked ahead of Texas Tech.

Texas Tech - crushing defeat
Oklahoma - convincing defeat
Texas - squeaker on the road

All other things being equal, which they pretty much are, you need to look at that. Clearly after the crushing loss, TTech should be out of the picture. Texas beat OU on neutral ground and did so convincingly. I don't really see what grounds OU should have for the Big 12 South Title or a NC shot over Texas. Sorry Sooner, it's just not your year.
