Easy to play. Difficult to master.

So why are they being converted? If people were using the courts they would not be converted.

I live in Houston and play here.

BUT, every time I go back to visit BR I play there. One of my buddies there plays so we get together when I come in town.

I've played at Highland RD park and Greenwood. I was really impressed with the Greenwood courts. That's a really nice facility.

It's definitely accurate.

One of the parks I play at has two PB courts and 6 tennis courts. Last time I was there the PB courts were full, with paddles stacked. There was no one on the tennis courts. Eventually some of the PB players started doing drills on the tennis courts while they waited to play.

I play at Lifetime gym. They turned one of their indoor basketball courts in to 3 PB courts. They are about to build 12 outdoor PB courts as well.

Supply and demand is real.

They are using them less. Pickle ball fatties should build their own courts

Takes far less skill than Tennis. Frankly I think table tennis requires more skill. To each their own but the sound is pretty annoying for folks who live around them. I've played it once, and it was...fine. It's designed to be easy. The difference between baseball and wiffleball. I draw the line where they start taking the place of real tennis courts.

You draw the line??

Wtf you gonna do?

Evidence suggest they are not being used at all therefore they are being converted to Pickleball courts. If they were being used they would not be converted.

I started playing about a year ago. I don't really have time to get out there as much as I would like, but our City Club just added a few courts (temporarily converted some tennis courts), but it's Friday-Sunday only.

I much prefer singles to doubles.

I play tennis. Pickleball does not interest me. There's an indoor pickleball place near our house with a restaurant and bar inside. I think it used to be an Office Depot or something about that size. I have yet to go check it out.

I’m a big Tennis player(USTA rated 4.5) and it’s been a very divisive topic for a few years now. Local parks have started to finally build dedicated pickle ball courts instead of using tennis courts. I played a tennis match a few weeks ago at a park that had 8 tennis courts and a dozen or so pickle ball courts. Every court, Tennis and pickle ball, was being used.

As a tennis player, it is annoying to play on a court that has been marked for pickle ball. It’s also annoying to play Tennis next to pickle ball players. They generally don’t follow etiquette protocol.

I heard about pickle all 8 years ago from a coworker and he told me back then it would become the biggest sport in America. I thought he was full of shite. He was right 8 years ago

If tennis courts were being used regularly and now you have to split time with pickleball I can see that being a source of tension.

With stand-alone pickleball courts popping up everywhere hopefully that problem solves itself

You are doing it wrong. Besides if you keep doing it with yourself you will go blind.

That is exactly what was happening at the local park I used for tennis. It’s why I joined a tennis club. That park has since built 6 pickle ball courts so that tension has subsided somewhat. They still use the tennis courts if the pickle ball courts are all occupied, but they’re supposed to vacate if tennis players show up.
