$51.63 per day after all bills, retirement, food, gas, recurring obligations, taxes, healthcare. About to chop some recurring obligations. Too many $9.99 a month items.

*excludes bonus money. That goes to vacations and toys

I forward $10,000/month into my investment account. This doesn’t include my 401k contributions.

We budget to live and entertain ourselves with the delta. Granted I own my home and vehicles outright and live pretty basic. I don’t strive to keep up with the Joneses.

It’s amazing that google will tell me I’m a top 5% earner but Tigerdroppings says otherwise.

Correct, although it's actually all just going to extra savings. Not fun stuff.

Not much…working on flipping the script…I started a side gig last year doing handyman work…trying to focus on more difficult plumbing and electrical that I can do without a license…going to make 20k plus this year….plan to have 2 car notes, student loan and a 401k loan all paid off by end of 2024….then going to rent my current home out and buy a new home….with all of the extra income plus the bills im eliminating I should have a minimum of 3k extra every month….not factoring in any raises and my annual bonus that is usually a nice chunk

I’m always floored by people making 200k/year yet they have a mortgage and car payments.

This would be expected for someone who financed with low interest rates.

Depends on how long they have been making this kind of money. Also, what if they have a house mortgaged at 2.5%. Maybe they aren't in a hurry to pay it off.

Not counting retirement city of L.A., 401k, wives 401k, savings from 1978 which put $20 week in now worth a decent amount, savings from selling my business. We put that money away and don’t touch it.

Kids out of the house.
1 house paid off
1 camp paid off really a house
2 boats paid off
2 vehicles paid off.

After utilities,
vehicle expenses includes gas, insurance
-vehicles, house, boats, life, medical, Long term care, still have annuities.
property taxes,
food,
entertainment eating out movies
cell phone/ internet
$25 gym member wife and I.
misc reoccurring bills
Water, trash, gas, electric

$18,333 per month after bills on what we bring in now just working.
We do not have a lot of bills, we live modestly, and kids are grown.

Saving to redo
Driveway
Front porch concrete
New roof
Fiber cement siding
Paint
New windows
Looking at $50k and take us 4 months to save for it.

Wife been at her job along time plus city of L.A. retirement don’t touch.
I sold my business, and training a young guy to be a diesel tech.
Once I finish this I probably fully retire.

You are easily floored. There are many rationale, easy to think of examples for why someone making $200K would have at least a mortgage and potential car payments.

Low interest rates
High COL area
Recently started making higher income
Student loan payoff

...still floored?
