I would guess 1 million to get it to where it was and another million for updates and improvements to the course and facilities. That’s not including payroll, utilities, inventory, etc.

Not even close. I did a bunker renovation on 3 acres of bunkers in 2020 and it was 635K. the bluffs needs greeens renovated, bulkhead work, bunkers renovated, etc.. this is a massive undertaking. its not as simple as cuttting the grass and spraying a few weeds. Think Cypress Bend Project. Plus Equipment pricing has increase 60% in the last 4 years.

Arnold Palmer Course Design is the perfect company to come in and redefine a Palmer course.

I passed by this past December just to take a look. Greens need a total rebuild. They had bad construction from the start and I don't think just strip the weeds off and replant would work.

Fairways and tees you can mow and spray and get right with time. Bunkers need total rebuild.

Irrigation? May need total redo also. Not sure what shape everything was in.

Buddy at work played in their 3 man scramble and said greens are best in BR and he’s a member at UC.

Our greens are in really good shape. They’ll be perfect for the 4 ball in august. It’s definitely worth $40 and a ride to Zachary.
We don’t try to be something we’re not, 9 holes, a bar, can get any kind of bet you want, it’s a blue collar club.

dated June 15, 2023 and states golf course renovation will start ‘this summer’

First day of summer is June 21.

Not saying the work will happen, but at least know basics before calling someone out.

How far past the point are you going to drive before you realize you’ve missed it?

I understand the point. But words are supposed to have meaning. Maybe call the report bs when there is nothing being done during the summer.

Which is still not here, btw. But maybe you missed my point. I guess I should expect such on an internet message board where all educational levels can freely post.

Clearly not.

All of this is a moot (or mute, if you’re an idiot) point if they choose to make it strictly private. They tried that before when Claude Penn owned it and it sank faster than the titanic

Private is a mistake in my opinion. Get nice as greens, let the rough be just shite. Decent fairways and tee boxes.
Make it worth the drive for the layout but don’t waste money on unnecessary things like flower beds.

At this rate, it’ll never happen

Do y’all do a scramble every Thursday?

What’s the details on the 4 ball event?

Yes there’s a 9 hole scramble every Thursday at 5:30. $20 and cash payout depending on number of players. Fun time to get some cold beers and hangout.
The 4 ball is August 12-13. Preflighted with 6 flights with cash payout for 1st-3rd in each flight. Big Calcutta Friday night, dinner Friday and Saturday. It fills up every year so sign up early.

I've never played Fennwood. Can a regular schmuck like me get on over there?

And wait 9 months for a new piece of equipment. I’ve had to resort to John Deere.

I know a certain poster will read this.

I think $200 per man. Prime rib for the main dinner is the best you’ll have at a golf tournament.

It’s open for tee times? I called a month or so ago and the girl told me it was members only. Kind of surprised me cause I grew up in Zachary and have played there a million times.
