This is what I dont like about modern games. Too much like work, and it's what keeps me going back to the simpler systems and games. This one looks like a nightmare to me, which is disappointing because I was always a Zelda fan up to majoras mask.
I know what you mean. I noticed I had to start saying "Ok. I am just beating this game...not trying to 100% like I did when I was younger."
There is just too much stuff to play now to get stuck on something. Thank you gamepass/ps membership or whatever they call it.

again....we don't want to be constantly managing our weapon inventory
I think an easy fix would have been if you're going to pick a weapon/bow/shield up while your stash is full, it should automatically pull up the stash and let you select one to drop if you so desire. Instead of you having to do it manually. It amazes me that a game like Earthbound, which was supposed to be a deconstruction of the RPG genre, did minor quality of life things like this to reduce tedium but even after all these years it doesn't seem to be a staple of RPG/adventure games.
Other than that I didn't mind the weapon degradation, it just annoys me when I go to open a chest and then it says "your inventory is full" and closes back up, so I have to go to the menu and drop one manually. Sometimes after I drop it near the chest I actually pick the old weapon back up by accident and then I have to do it again. It's something that shouldn't be that big a deal since it only takes a few seconds to do, but after having to do it time and time again for almost every chest you come across, it gets pretty old.

I don’t really get the weapon degradation complaints. There are different weapons all over the map. You can carry multiple at once and increase your inventory amount easily. Not to mention the numerous different ways to inflict damage outside of weapons.
Same. I’m as casual a gamer as there is and it’s not a big deal at all to me. BOTW is by far my favorite game on any system since n64. Absolutely pumped about this one.

It sounds like, from the early access players, they made the exact improvements you're describing, and then some.
At this point, I'm more worried that the entire game is going to be building shite.

I will be at a midnight release party at my local Game Stop next Thursday night for this game.
Not because I enjoy midnight release parties. I just want the game the moment it comes out.
Got the Link amiibo too.

Hopefully they approach it like with the building in Fallout 4. There were a handful of missions where you had to build something, nothing extravagant, but if that wasn't your thing you could easily ignore it for the rest of the game.

I wish I would have ignored helping the damn settlements in that game. ugh.

Damn that's awesome they still do those. I remember when that was a normal thing for me, especially for the NCAA games every year. I ordered the collectors edition from Walmart so i gotta wait for it to arrive, but damn getting it at midnight sounds tempting

Just booted up the Switch, and Tears of the Kingdom is downloading (had pre-ordered through the online store using one of the vouchers).
I hope it's actually playable when it finishes downloading, but I'm guessing it won't be.

Here's What Time Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Releases On Switch
The long-awaited Breath of the Wild sequel is almost here.

Where to buy
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set for release on May 12 for Nintendo Switch. But when, exactly, does the game become available and can you pre-load it?
A listing on Nintendo's website states that digital software also sold physically for Switch will "usually" be available starting at 9 PM PT the night before the official release date. A spokesperson for Nintendo confirmed that this also applies to Tears of the Kingdom, meaning players can jump in starting at 9 PM PT on May 11 and 12 AM ET on May 12.
GameRant first reported on this.
Pre-loading details for Tears of the Kingdom have not been announced. However, Nintendo's own FAQ states that pre-loading may begin as soon as May 5, but there is no exact confirmation yet. Tears of the Kingdom is a beefy game, at 16GB, so it'll be nice to be able to preload. GameSpot has contacted Nintendo regarding the pre-loading information, too.
Tears of the Kingdom has already found its way into the hands of some people, so be mindful of spoilers for the next week or so. Also watch out, because if you got an early copy, former Nintendo boss Reggie Fils-Aime is hunting you down.
Expectations are high for Tears of the Kingdom, both in terms of quality and commercial success. After all, Breath of the Wild was critically adored and has sold more than 29 million units, so the sequel has very large shoes to fill.

1 hour 45 minute download. Clear your memory cards gentlemen.

I downloaded the game tonight.
I’ll play it and finish it even if it’s torture. But if this one is as slow and boring as the previous then I probably won’t continue with this series. I’ll just go back to the old n64-GameCube games.

I get the complaints, but it was fun to be in a battle with only a few weapon choices, have to pick up a stick for a bit, then figure out what weapon to aim for next.

Nope. Downloaded but not playable.

DLed but not playable here as well. It said 1 hour 45 minutes; but I think with fast wifi it only took about 40 minutes.
