No, it wasn't.

Blank would never have let Fontenot draft Carter with their top ten first round pick. So, get over that.

Robinson was the perfect fit for this offense and, according to many "experts", was the top player in the draft.

GMs and head coaches in the NFL no longer care about 3 years from now. Their job is on the line from day one. This is the first year they got out of salary cap hell. They decided to build the defense with their new found money.

With three top ten 1st round picks, they used them to draft skilled position players that you wouldn't have gotten outside of the top ten picks. The offensive line has gotten better since they took over and now they basically have a brand new defense.

I don't have delusions of grandeur, but making the playoffs with this roster is not out of the realm of possibility, because of who they drafted, not because of who they didn't.

They drafted a RB in the top 10. I don't care what the name on the back of the jersey says. That is absolutely fricktarded. Modern NFL running games are entirely dependent on scheme and OL play and have very little to do with the skill of the runner himself.

Last season, the Panthers were 1-5 when they traded McCaffrey to the 49ers. They went 6-5 after.

Derrick Henry missed 9 games for Tennessee in 2021. His replacements were Dontrelle Hilliard and D'Onta Foreman, who combined to make less than $1M (compared to Henry's $10M). Tennessee went 6-3 in those 9 games and averaged about 140 rushing yards per game. It's highly unlikely they would have done any better or worse with Henry in there.

In 2018, when the Rams made their Super Bowl run, it was with Todd Gurley injured and on the bench. They signed CJ Anderson off the street and didn't skip a beat in production.

No team's season goes down the shitter when a RB gets hurt because they're so easily replaceable, especially in Arthur Smith's scheme, which can get anyone to average 4 ypc.

Also, the Falcons completely negated the great value they had in Allgeier by drafting over him.

Just absolute dumbassery by a franchise that has done a lot of dumbassery over the years.

This should be the expectation. I think it would be a massive failure if they don't win this division. I don't expect them to advance in the playoffs, but they should absolutely win this division. The Buccaneers are awful, the Panthers are probably a year away, and the Saints gave an obnoxious contract to Derek Carr, who is the picture definition of mediocre.

Blank is good at selling concessions and hardware.
He’s a football idiot.
