I have a hustler not saying it’s the best but my first one lasted 13yrs with no issues until one of the hyd motors started leaking. After 12yr with the deck corrosion and age of the motor decided to sell it and bought the pretty much exact same machine.
How many acers are you cutting what is the “dirt”
Like? When I bought mine the salesman asked me the same. He said “just cus your mower can run 15mph doesn’t mean you can” and he was right!!

The best? A Scag Turf Tiger 2 or John Deere Z960M. Nothing else comes close. I made a small fortune running good equipment.

I have a Hustler with a 60 inch deck and 24hp Kawasaki engine. Really like it. I was planning on John Deere since I have their tractors and a gator but liked how beefy the frame was on the Hustler. Have a lot of highway frontage that has some steep banks and like how it handles on the inclines.

I have a Big Dog, which is an upgraded Hustler, very good and no problems. My neighbor liked it so much, he bought one too.

KUBOTA. End of discussion.
Scag if you don’t have access to a Kubota. Hustler after that.

I manage a 92 acre recreation facility. We run diesel Kubotas, from 54-72". Our grooming mowers for the playing fields are Toro Groundsmaster 3505-Ds... which utilize a Kubota diesel motor.
My personal is a Kubota zg222. It is a gas burner, but the motor is still made by Kubota.
Had a few Scags in the past, and they're probably fine for residential use. But didn't stand up to daily use. We needed something with serviceable bearings, and true drive shafts to gear boxes. Belts don't last long in commercial use.

That’s about 89 more than the average mower on the OB. When I bought my first mower the guy selling it it me said “ I can sell you more than you need and you will be happy or I can sell you what you need and you will be happy”!!

I’ve got a Scag Turf Tiger ll, with a 72” deck. Rides like a Cadillac.
The grass is too scared to grow because of it.

I’ve run Grasshopper and ExMark commercial grade mowers. Both were trouble free. I particularly liked the Grasshopper.

I'm a Gravely guy. Had a 52" commercial that lasted 16 years mowing ~5 acres at high speed over many a river birch limb and cypress knee. It finally crapped out and I got a Pro Turn 660 last year. It's more mower than I need but damn it's a Cadillac.
Got a 52" commercial Kubota at the camp. It's a good mower but I prefer driving the Gravely.

What kind of price range and how many acres or what size lot will you be cutting?
A lot of good mowers. I just pulled the trigger on a Bad Boy ZT Elite. I am not gonna say that Bad Boy is the best out there but for the size and price bracket I was looking at I couldn’t find anything that had as many features that I was looking for.

about 7 acres.. But it's an rv park and there will be a lot to dance around...

I certainly can't say anything about any others, but my JD 717A turns 19 this month. It's had one carb kit, three sets of tires, belts, blades and routine oil changes. Still running strong. I have a 2 acre yard and I don't anticipate the need for another mower any time in the near future.

Gotcha, I would look at entry level commercial level mowers for that. Most all of them have the same options on motors and transaxles. Get one with a heavy gauge fabricated deck and the biggest serviceable hydro transmissions that will fit within your budget.

I have the Bad Boy but I've run some Cub Cadets with no problems.
