27. It's a good time to be in the construction management industry. My company is throwing ridiculous money out there, particularly for superintendents. All these old farts are finally retiring or dying. Not much young talent in the industry.

30 years ago when I was 28.
I was leading a large software development team working on a global ERP system for a Fortune 100 company.

Straight salary at age 25, 1984. Had hit six figures a few times before thanks to some hefty commission checks.

I'd have to look at my SS records, but guessing in the early 2000s.

Started in the construction field as a surveyor at 23 making $38k/yr then at 29 signed an offer of $125k/yr base salary all because they found out I was really good at math and guestimating. Now I run the preconstruction dept.

The day I separated from the Marine Corps. Took a job in Afghanistan and made more in two years than I made in a decade as an enlisted Marine.

I'm sure if she did an OnlyFans or something, she would make that in 2-3 months.
