I've made this a couple of times and it's always been a hit. I serve it with cheese grits. It's called Peposo and is an old Italian recipe.

Sip and Feast - Peposo

I am a fan of soups.

Examples: Chowder, Gumbo, Shrimp stew, Momma Bear Soup, beef and barley, Chicken pot pie soup, Beef Taco soup, Beef stew, Chicken enchalada, and a new guy, the Cheesy Tex-mex Chicken shown in a post I did a few minutes ago.

Chili is always a winner. White chicken chili also.

Did chicken and dumplings this week. Classic style, cream based. Donald Link has one in his cook book that's more of a brown gravy, stew style that I want to try.

I made a hobo stew, no offense to any hobos that may be in here. That's what we called it when I was in boy scouts as a kid and we would always make it for cold weather campouts and it was always amazing.

Brown some ground beef and then toss in a bunch of canned vegetables. Each kid would bring a couple cans of vegetables so it was always interesting.

Add some seasonings and some stock, bring to a boil and then let simmer for an hour or so. Top with your favorite hot sauce.

I threw a soup of some sort together last night to enjoy during the deep freeze.
(1) big bottle of V8 juice
(1) big bottle of water
(2) cans of black eyed peas
(1) can of sweet corn
(1) can of diced potatoes
(1) yellow onion
(1) bag of linguine noodles
Salt and pepper to taste.

It turned out decent considering it was stuff I found in the pantry. Wishing I had some ritz crackers.
