More like looking in mirror and saying “I’m very disappointed in you” but give the guy credit he was the original superfan without any costume or props.

I went to LSU in 86 so not sure if he was there that long ago. I was kicking arse then in BB and also in intramural BB.

Used to go play inside the Pmac with Anthony Wilson and had some great one on one and horse games during our PE class.

The field house back then was lit with open runs every night of the week. Rudy Macklin played a lot as did a lot of football players. Hodson could ball and he and a group of football players beat us in the semis in intramural playoffs in '87 I believe. The best show though was when the track team showed up. Have no idea who he was, but the high jumper would play maybe 5 mins before the desk nazi would kick him out for hanging on the rim. Every one of the track guys would fly up and down the court (obviously) but couldn't shoot/play for shite.

That had to be the absolute worst floor surface in history. Worn out tartan rubber with varying parts slick and others sticky. No give, no bounce and dead soft spots everywhere including open holes covered by the mat material. The assembly center had the same surface before going to hardwood in the mid 80's

i remember him well

we used to play in the Old Gym Armory too, that floor was incredibly slippery

we also used to play on the 9ft rims behind UHIGH, the outdoor court at married student housing behind the Band Practice field and at Highland Elementary School off of Highland (where CJ took the SI Cover Photo)

Cool background. He always picked me up on his team in late 90s at Rec and seemed to like me.

It’s been so long that I’ve forgotten most of the regulars from that era. Brandon Landry from Walkon’s, Dave & Ryan, Darrell Tagert, Landon, Elaine Powell, Katrina Hibbert, & Marie Ferdinand from LSU women, Tony, Ben B. Few that come to mind.

Bruh. There’s no doubt you and I played together. I know pretty much all those people you speak of. I played there from the mid-1990s until around 2010. How about Alan the attorney and Brock the law student? We played with Collis Temple lll and Garret Temple when they were kids and watched them develop

I’m sure that I played at the same time as well in the 90s
Was Master P out there sometimes?

I played with Master P and his group a few times. I’d usually go early afternoon and play on the main court a couple games, then move to the ‘Henry’ court.

On one weekday in late 90s, I played well in a game against Master P’s team and our team won. One of the entourage had next and kept delaying start of next game. After 10 minutes, they declared it was now ‘1st game’ and our team was somehow off court. That sort of stuff happened at times, everyone would start arguing and I’d go over and run with Henry.

Same here, averaged maybe 3 times a week, late afternoon guy. At times would run on the "big dog" court, but I had more fun and got to actually play ball playing a court down with Henry and friends.

And definitely remember playing with/against the Temple kids in the rec.

Hardest check I ever had was a friday afternoon up against Ron Mercer, former UK star, NBA player and No Limit client. Somehow we won that game, which I had nothing to do with, Mercer did what he wanted and I didn't score.

Next game, Mercer is back on but now I'm checking Derek Anderson, former UK star, NBA player and No Limit client. Same result for me except this time our team lost.

Looking back I think this was fall 1998 during the NBA lockout.

I definitely remember Henry! Very nice guy all around. I had no idea what his background was, though. I played at the REC from its opening in 1993 til about 2000. I am sure I encountered many of you. I was the short white guy who shot 3's and that was about it...

Oh yeah. They all were there. When I went for orientation during the summer of 98 they were there. Apparently some of his crew had the wrong shoes on so he sent someone to the foot locker or whatever which I think was just off campus by chimes. They walked in with a bunch of new shoes. CSB

The Rec staple I remember was ( I believe) was a landscape architecture prof who loved tricep workouts. He would be there most days of the week doing all kinds of triceps

I’m pretty sure Randy moss was in there with master P as well. Maybe Antoine Walker? There were some big names.
