That Rece pushes Saban talking points and is clearly pro-Alabama yet pretends to be neutral is the actual problem. Everyone has biases, if he just owned his it would be much less of a problem.

This is what grinds my gears about Rece. The Devin White targeting suspension discussion was a dead give away. He lost major credibility when he went all in on that b.s. call vs. Miss St.

Rece isn't on the show to give an opinion. He comes off as a smug little prick and he is a bama grad. He says things as if they are a matter of fact. If he just gave an opinion that it would be a tough road for LSU to make the playoffs that would be one thing. Most experts think the SEC champion is a virtual lock then you have this bitch saying no way.

Rece is supposed to be just the host of College Gameday; nothing more, but he constantly oversteps his bounds by giving his opinion on things and arguing with the others who are paid to actually have an opinion.

He has no credentials or experience to be anything other than a host. I keep waiting for one of the other guys to put him in his place during a telecast. His head would explode.

Just more proof that the committee system is a joke.

Interesting that the two people that never played a down of football in their lives completely reject the idea, yet pretty much all the ones that see LSU making the playoff winning out played the game.

your hyperbole is noted and stupid. No, we don't expect we are the best and nothing else, what we do expect is that a SEC champ who beat the best team in the country, Alabama, and a 10-2 Ole Miss should definitely get a spot in the playoffs. At the end of the season (prior to bowl games), if LSU won out, it will have beaten 3 current, at that point, top 10 teams. No other team, even Tennessee, will have that resume.

If TCU loses, and Ohio St wins out, and LSU wins out, it really should be 3 SEC teams and Ohio St in the playoff if we really want to be for real. But they won't do that. Somebody has to be screwed and I'll be damned if it's a SEC champ LSU.

SEC East Runner up aint it
This is the correct response to Reece & his TennerC talking points.

IF TennerC wanted into the CFP they should’ve won their side of the SEC (Like LSU & UGA) & put themselves in position to WIN their way in rather than Back Dooring/Snaking/Bama-ing their way into the CFP.

So Reece Davis said only UGA can lose the game. Then Thamel says that Kelly took huge chances against UT - does that means LSU lost to UT rather than UT winning? Hmmmm.

The Tennessee loss isn't the problem - it's the Florida State loss. A 1 loss lsu gets in, even with the head to head loss from tennessee. IF lsu beats GA, the question will be how much we get penalized for the week 1 slip up.

Assuming LSU beats Ga.
LSU>Ga
Ga>Tenn
Tenn>LSU.
LSU In because they are champs. Who lost last Ga.
LSU and Tenn are in, not Ga.

This thread has probably already gone too long, but . . .

Pete Thamel: Syracuse grad, New York guy, dislikes all things southern and successful

Rece Davis: Alabama grad, Crimson Tide pimp, thinks his opinions matter as much as Herbstreit, Pollack and Galloway but unfailingly shows his Gump bias.

The elephant in the room for LSU fans is the opening game loss to Florida State. It's the scarlet letter "L" that people like Davis think we can't ignore.

But, in fact, the CFP committee in 2014 chose to ignore Ohio State's early season 35-21 loss at home to a Virginia Tech team that finished 6-6.

The committee can choose to ignore what it wants, and it often does. Anyone who tries to use their media pulpit to argue that their point of view makes the most sense is fooling themselves.

Ohio State bailed out the committee in 2014 by winning the whole thing. After the game, the whole committee and their families gathered on the 50-yard line at Cowboys Stadium and toasted themselves with champagne. (There are pictures of this). Since then, the committee has acted with the central conceit that, in the end, they will decide who the most deserving four teams in the country are and they will manipulate things to include those four.

Surely, any team that would defeat mighty Georgia in the SEC championship game would be considered worthy to be among those final four. Right?

I get what he's saying. He views the blowout as a tie breaker basically. But it so undervalues the SEC championship. I honestly think UGA is borederline unbeatable this year. Too many teams have flaws that UGA just doesn't have.
