Who would've thought that CA and NY would save the House for the GOP this cycle? Crazy times
One thing that surprised me is there’s not a single red house district in New England not a one. Heck even Oregon and Washington have a couple red districts

I really don’t understand why there’s such a long gap between the primary and runoff elections in Georgia. One month, really? How many people will even be motivated to go back out there and vote especially with it not being a deciding factor in determining the senate majority?

Democrats will steal all of the seats in CA, except maybe CA03. CA22 is the one that they're gonna have to put in work on. If they steal that one too, you'll know that they can steal any close race they want.

I tuned out after election night as Texas pretty much was sealed by 9 pm. What has happened? I’ve been moving so yes I’m ignorant and uninformed

house republicans have slim majority. McCarthy is the nominated majority leader.
Senate D are at 50.
r is 49.
Georgia runoff. Dec 6.
no incumbent D lost a senate seat. Pennsylvania open seat went for D Fetterman. the incumbent R from Pennsylvania retired.

Decision Desk HQ projects two more House races: Democratic Representatives Ami Bera (CA-6) and Jim Costa (CA-21) have been reelected.
Republicans now have 219 seats, Democrats 211. Five seats are still to be called.
DDHQ still has not called CO-03... even though the other thread says Boebert's challenger has conceded the race

I've seen enough: Rep. David Valadao (R) wins reelection in #CA22, defeating Rudy Salas (D). Two of ten pro-impeachment Republicans will remain in the next Congress

Republicans will win CA-03, CA-22 and possibly CA-13. With the Boebert win (now appearing likely) that's either 221 or 222 R.

Number of people actually going out and casting their actual vote will certainly be down.
However number of ballots being submitted/counted will remain strong. If you know what I mean.

I imagine it's like that to allow the vote to get certified and/or any potential mandatory machine or hand recounts to be resolved. Imagine getting 49.999% of the vote and being forced to do a runoff vs do a recount to see if you hit 50.000001

I keep hearing how hard it will be for the Republicans to control by such a narrow margin. Yet the Dims had a similar margin after 2020 and they continuously screwed us.

the question is can McCarthy keep the GOP together on potentially controversial votes like Nancy kept the Dems in line the last 2 years

kinda surprised I'm getting upvotes on the announcement of Valadao winning reelection in CA-22... considering he voted to convict Trump in the impeachment trial
