Do you think Sevyn’s injury disrupted team’s psyche in 1Q?

Couldn’t help but feel our guys had some juice going into pregame. Then after Sevyn’s hit we looked a little shell shocked and made some bad plays on defense, spotting them points.

It’s understandable, as seeing one of your friends getting carted off, possibly severely injured would shock me too.

Is it believable we didn’t have a good start due to this? Or was the team just sloppy to start?

Also, this isn’t a blame Sevyn thread… I wish him the best and praying for a complete full recovery. Hopefully he can come back and play soon.

Yes definitely. Anyone who’s ever seen a major injury right before going out and doing the same activity knows that it fricks you up mentally and makes you hesitant

What does this even mean? How would you know this and then think it would impact how LSU was gonna play?

Yes for the first quarter. Also playing a SEC game on the road.

His injury caused all those broken assignments in the secondary.? Caused the quarterback to hold the ball too long? Caused the wide receivers to drop the ball?

No, the issue was dropping balls and breaking off wrs to chase the qb.

I would think it had an impact on the team, but it was a buzz killer for me seeing that guy carted off like that. I'm so glad he's ok.

That may have had an impact but we looked like a team that presumed they had this game from the start and prepared accordingly.

Auburn showed up ready and we didn’t. It was almost the Bo Nix show again, QB scrambles, our DB’s abandon their receivers and huge plays happened. We got down and trying to recover emotion and lack of prep is difficult.

But we WON

In spite of ourselves!!

I think it did. Reminded me of Chuckie Mullins injury.

Glad to know that he will be ok.

If your a decent human of course it affected the players but most of the busted plays was because of Foucha which is why they sub him out and put Jarrick back there

The ghost of Chuck Mullins hangs over the SEC. Decades from now we will remember his name.

I think this is completely plausible. It happened to a team I played on, our guy had a vicious compound fracture and we were all too upset to focus. Hell, I was crying because it was best friend and I was the starting center. If you aren’t focused in the SEC it can spin out of control quickly.

As someone who played in a game where our LB had to be taken away by ambulance with a neck injury(ended up breaking his neck/quadriplegic), it definitely messes you up. And we were freshmen at the time.

We ended up winning, but it was an ugly game bc you had no idea what the outcome was.

It seems like LSU turned things around pretty close to the time the info came out that he was going to be ok.
