The Big Ten presidents met last night, discussed USC & UCLA's entry into the league and conducted, basically, a straw poll, sources tell @SINow.

It wasn't close. They agreed to expand the conference.

A formal vote could come in a matter of days if not *hours.*

USC definitely going to be 11-0 and lose 10-9 to Purdue in the last game of the season is a snowstorm first season out. It's destiny.

At this point with the current SCOTUS lineup I wouldn't be surprised to see Title IX get altered or dismantled.

Sources tell @latimes that USC was the impetus behind this move to the Big Ten.

The move is believed to include all sports except for beach volleyball, sources say.

Here me out guys. All the Power 5 teams join one conference. These teams are split into 5 Leagues based on geography and history. About two-thirds of games will be played against teams within your league. Teams from different leagues can agree to play eachother. The Leagues can act independently for things like conference championship games

League 1
Alabama
Auburn
Arkansas
LSU
Florida
Kentucky
Ole Miss
Mississippi State
Georgia
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
South Carolina

League 2
Clemson
Miami
Florida State
Louisville
Boston College
Maryland
Duke
UNC
NC State
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Pitt

League 3

Texas
Texas A&M
Missouri
Nebraska
Colorado
Kansas
Kansas State
Texas Tech
Baylor
TCU
Iowa State
Houston

League 4
Ohio State
Michigan
Michigan State
Wisconsin
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Purdue
Penn State
Northwestern
Notre Dame

League 5
Southern Cal
UCLA
Cal
Stanford
Arizona State
Arizona
Utah
Oregon
Oregon State
Washington
Washington State

I know this is a new and crazy idea but it looks perfect to me

Can we talk about how at least Texas/OU to the SEC makes SOME geographical sense???

While this move is completely dumb that will have California schools travel to the EAST coast for a conference matchup.

Bud from the Cover 3 podcast said he spoke to someone on Oregon's football staff and was told Phil Knight is going to take care of them. They will either go to the Big 10 or go Independent.

As far as geography is concerned geography shouldn't be a concern since you have NIL. Athletes are being paid. College sports are no longer amateur sports.

So we've come full circle, CFB is officially dead.

SEC drew First Blood, Bama plunged the knife, NIL severed the head...Conference greed lent the death blow.

I think most of us agree with you in the sense that the 5 power conference alignment was the best setup for fans and schools we ever had.

SEC
B1G
ACC
Big (8)12
Pac (10)12

We're not going back to that, unfortunately. A lot of it had to do with the self-importance of Texas, if you ask me. They ruined the Big 12, which started the domino-effect of what you see today.

USC/UCLA aren't even really a "balanced" addition to the B1G. This is solely about football. They are traditional baseball powers, which the B1G is not. They don't have wrestling programs at all, which is actually a fairly big monetary factor in much of the B1G. Arizona State, Stanford, and Oregon State are the only three PAC programs that have wrestling, I believe. It's just amazing how much power the television-revenue from football has over universities these days.
