You’re definitely not wrong, but I will say Bridges’ actions sound worse than Hayes’. It’s clearly still wrong, but you could convince yourself with Hayes that he’s an immature hothead with jealousy and substance abuse issues. It seemed like it would be resolved with a misdemeanor plea from the beginning. For Bridges, based on the victim’s statement, it sounds like this is not close to the first time this has happened (which is obviously not uncommon with DV situations). When you throw in the documented injuries and the stuff about the kids being around and witnessing it, Bridges is (rightly) screwed.

That’s kind of proving my point.
Video/photo just so drastically alters how these events are processed and reacted to.
It makes it visceral and real and undeniable. Leaving no room for rationalizations.
If we had video of Hayes’s dog hurting his girlfriend’s dog, Hayes then threatening to have his cousin rape her, breaking into the house, into the bathroom of his girlfriend, throwing her down the stairs, or photos of him slapping her around in the hotel room prior, Hayes assuredly never plays another game.
But we don’t have that, so people can and do rationalize, ignore, make mental excuses. Hayes will settle his civil case, do his parole, and probably be in the league another 8-10 years barring another incident or lack of growth as a player
Just interesting from a human psychology and sociological perspective is all

Oh I 100% agree with you. My only point was, in fairness to Jax, Bridges situation seems much worse. Jax is just the skinniest kid at fat camp.

There was definitely a player for the Lakers within the last decade who was able to defer a jail sentencing to play the rest of the season.

There would be protests that would shut the arena down. I always wonder what crap the Lakers are going to pull, but this this guy isn't playing basketball this season. Not after those photos.
