Plainly clear that "we" won't.

Not willingly and only begrudgingly if the crime exceeds my desire to keep an outlawed weapon. Even then, doubt I would "hand it over". More likely to bury the son of a bitch where no one can find it.

If it ever goes boom it would be bloody on a scale not seen since the war of northern aggression. Even our mighty military doesn’t have the resources to hold more than a handful of areas. Ukraine is roughly the size of Texas and Afghanistan is smaller than many states.

Quit saying we

You are certainly not a part of we.

I don’t know about the Right, but the Left damn sure will; against what they label ‘tyranny’. I .e., Constitutional GOd-given Rights.

Sounds like you are describing a lot of the woke/liberal/antifa brood. And yet they seem to be capable of a lot of violence.

My fear is they will slowly chip away at our rights and by the time we decide to fight it will be too late.

Even our founders waited for what some said was too long to act on independence. The free man, though yearning to be free seeks peace almost and up to the loss of freedom. Then he acts and acts decisively.

Americans haven't suffered since about 1776.

There really wasn't that much suffering back then compared to now. Yeah we have AC and Netflix but as far as being ruled or having freedom, we have it far worse than the 1770's. We have very little freedom in the US.

As suggested already in this thread, you can do very odd things when you are hungry like slitting the throats of family members of police or military personnel while they are out collecting your firearms under the pretense of "just doing their job".

That is the absolute brilliance of the Founding Fathers at play, and Lord I hope I am long gone from this rock when that sh_t starts to go down.

Good question/topic btw.

The marxist democrats will not be able to fundamentally remake this country in the socialist mold without reaching the tipping point for millions of people. It is not happenstance that disarming the public is a pillar of their agenda. At this point I'm not too sure that the general population will be smart enough to avoid voting themselves into socialism. What follows is shooting our way out of it. Just a matter of time.

There's still axes, archery, blades, traps, and explosives and we still outnumber the US military by about 400M. They will never take over the US populous unless we let them. It's a massive country, and the right effort would still leave us wholly invincible to everything except nukes.

Most legal gun owners have families with jobs, homes, etc.

Those haven’t been threatened by govt yet. Most of our problems can be solved at the voting booth is what many still believe.

Let there be no jobs, food shortages, massive inflation, gun confiscation, etc where people no longer have anything to lose. You’ll see a different side then

Once a populace decides to ignore its laws the options available for use in guerrilla warfare become abundant. Most of of our soldiers that died in Afghanistan were killed by things made in someones house on a kitchen table.

I suppose the question is what level of tyranny would it take for citizens to use arms against the state?
