1187s were never good guns. I had a late 80s model and the bolt didnt lock on the second shot one time .... bolt lodged in receiver and gun was a right off. Initially i thought it was the shell but in conversation w Estate they said it was a common issue w 1187s. He passed me onto customer service at rem and they replaced the gun. I sold the 1187 and went w beretta... nvr looked back. Now older 1100s are a good gun

RemArms, LLC got some of the classic rifles and shotguns. I think the new entity is still getting their shite together and not yet making guns. I’d read/heard the plan was for them to start making the 870 first but who knows.

They are moving their HQ and manufacturing to LaGrange, GA.

That is why. I wanted something 7mm. I wanted long range. I wanted to send big bullets long range. 7 saum checks all those boxes in a long action. Ideally, a defiance medium action would be the best of both worlds but I had the 700 la with a mag bolt face. Plus 7 saum is bad arse. Has a longer neck than 7wsm so I can shoot bigger longer bullets seated way out there.

Yeah you are probably right. the 11-87 I have shot was good but I knew it wasn't an 1100. Either way, bring back the 1100 and 870 to how they were. Simmons had new Remington 870s on their website. Not sure when they were made or if they were leftovers from the old Remington. It was under "Remington Arms Co." or something.

So out of curiosity, you are having classic model rifles blueprinted to be rebuilt, but better?

here's some more information based on custom rifle builds ... video of new factory barrel vs. custom barrel borescope

Just like the action and barrel threads I posted above, a customer never sees what the inside of a factory barrel looks like unless it's borescoped.

Quite the testament to management of Remington, that in the biggest gun buying frenzy in history, they managed to kill the company.

Colt managed to do the same thing. It's quite incredible really.

As for Remington now, I thought the Seminole Nation or some other Indian tribe bought them?

They did try but it didn't work out for them.

So how much do you have in the action when compared to the $1000 new actions such as Zermatt?
