he is a true team guy. He has experienced the highs and lows.

7/11/138/3

JJ had less passing yards and TDs in 09 vs Florida and Bama and he had the same yardage vs Vandy

in 2010 JJ threw for less than 138 in a nice stretch of games: Vandy, State, WV, TN, Florida, Mcneese and Auburn and then dropped under 138 again vs ULM

in 2014 Jenning had 7 games under the 138 mark

in 2015 Harrs had 5 games under 138

in 2016 Etling had 3 under and in 2017 4 under that mark.

What an opportunity for him and to finish his career on. I was proud of him and the other Fightin' Tigers competing last night. How fitting to end your Tiger career tossing that dime for a TD on the last play. So cool to watch.

He threw some fricking ropes at times last night

Must’ve done that all the time in practice too

Jontre in the short side option would have been a beauty

Looking back on those stats, man was our offense depressing.

Loved everything about him and what he stands for. But, he isn't going down as a legend. Come on man!

Kirklin now has more career touchdown passes than Nussmeier.

HE TALKS LIKE US...

I've listened to that post game interview 3-4 times - or as Jontre and Lutcher folk would say, "tree fo time"

I got choked up when he says things like " I tank it was mah fort yeeah when I played connaback..."
...and "if we got lebben we goin play..." and "choot, mane..."

We should make it a rule that there has to be at least one thick Cajun accent heard at every broadcast of an LSU event...

Kirklin deserves a helluva lot of respect from all fans. He had a big purple heart in that game!

Jontre Kirklin
No one else in the history of the world will ever be the 2 time State Champ at Lutcher, win a SEC and National Championship, and throw an 81 TD strike on the last play of his college career.

Honestly, this was a pretty fun bowl experience, getting to see these guys show up and line up knowing they were totally outmatched on the field, but especially on the sideline.

But they played hard the whole game and even looked like they were having some fun out there. Ward, Ojulari, and obviously Kirklin did the purple and gold proud for sure.

Yes, I’m glad it was late as hell on a Tuesday night when the rest of the country has already forgotten about college football for the year lol, but I’m glad we got to see it
damn right. couldn't have said it better.

All I have to add is abundant THANKS to the guys who showed up.

I love so called grown men calling kids "quitters" because they didn't play in one game, and in the case of Nussmirer he did it to preserve a year of eligibility.

As far as the NFL the likely Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year "quit" last year, they were both top 15 picks, if the pros don;t care about that they sure as hell won;t care someone skipped the Texas Bowl once

He was somehow way better than Anthony Jennings and Andrew Hatch, dudes that started SEC games for us.

He honestly wasn’t much worse than Brandon Harris

Most of his passes were where the receiver could catch them (unfortunately a few were receptions by KS). The final play was a thing of beauty. I just wonder what he could have done in a game wherein the opted-out starters could have contributed. Jontre was a captain who staid with the ship even as it was sinking. Great young man. I can see his humility and grace going a long way in life.

It was like the 300.

They stood in the gap and fought against an overwhelming foe to the bitter end.
