Thats the only way I would be happy with the SEC turning into a huge superconference. I've always been a fan of the bowl system even with it's problems but if this all goes down I'll be fully on the "give us a damn playoff system" bandwagon.

There will definitely be some heated Quidditch matches between LSU and A&M now.

why

Because the SEC is already hard enough as it is. There's a reason we've gotten the benefit of the doubt so much recently, and it's because our teams play a gauntlet during the season. Imagine playing a normal schedule, but instead of vandy throw in a trip to norman. Not to mention all the secondary sports affected. Think about a UF basketball player playing a Tuesday night game in College Station then coming back in time for class Wednesday. It just doesn't make a lick of sense (other than to get more money obviously) to expand. I don't give a shite how many TV sets are watching the SEC.

Bowls will still exist even if playoffs are implemented.

Bowls will even be PART of the playoff system

Summer graduation ceremonies just took place at A&M. As President Loftin took the podium, a lot of the crowd started chanting "SEC". President Loftin just smiled and said, "It's a great time to be at A&M."

BCS would be done with, Playoff would be put into place when the "super conferences" come about...

this.

the super conferences are inevitable. it may take a little longer to get a playoff, but eventually it will happen.

things seem to be moving a lot quicker than i ever thought they would though.

after last summer i didn't think we'd see another big shift for at least another 5-10 years. by the end of next year the landscape could be shifted completely.

Oklahoma City is a bigger market than New Orleans.

Tulsa is a bigger media market than Baton Rouge.

Oklahoma is also has a stronger national audience.

No one wants to watch NC State outside of North Carolina.

People want to watch OU-Florida or OU-Alabama or OU-LSU in different states outside of the southeast.

Last month, as Slive was speaking about expansion, he was asked if the SEC would stop at 14 teams or if it were possible to get to 16 teams? His response: “We could get to 16 teams in 15 minutes.”

It's all about the money! But I would rather have Baylor, Texas Tech, or Houston, SMU but A & M has more money. Arkansas gets hurt if that happens. And if Florida State comes that hurts Florida. Why can't we get Virginia Tech or Cincinnati one of those weaker football schools. Everybody wants to be in the richest conference SEC, most of the Schools go to bowls and we share equally.
Good grief if that happens what does the Big Ten, ACC, and those other conference do? No one will watch the rest and we will have all the money and TV. Why don't we get Notra Dame and USC and be done? Would anyone care what other schools are doing?

COLLEGE STATION – Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe has told Texas A&M that Texas holds the key to the long-term future of the Big 12, and that the Big 12 would survive without the Aggies, according to an A&M official. The Big 12 also believes the University of Houston would be a viable candidate to replace the Aggies, the A&M official said. All signs point to the Aggies bolting the Big 12 for the Southeastern Conference. The A&M regents are meeting on Aug. 22 and an announcement about the SEC might follow soon after.

So, basically, Dan Beebe has told aTm, " Don't let the door hit you..."?!

Our Quidditch team isn't ready for the SEC. They will take some lumps the first few years but within 6 years they will be winning national championships AT LEAST every 2 years
