Somebody has to be playing a joke. One look from a Big XII official at Tulane home game attendance and that will end this talk.

I actually hope this happens. Perhaps it would spur Tulane to better their program and build an on campus stadium. That will only help the city and state.

That being said, no way in frick this happens.

Tulane is interesting to the Big 12 because of its location in New Orleans and in a state, Louisiana, where the Big 12 is absent

This is the only viable reason for this. It would give the Big 12 a foothold in the area for recruiting.

Tulane is attractive to visiting teams and the recruiting market. Even tulane draws well when playing bigger named opps. If Tulane makes this move it means that are obviously going to be spending more money so it might not be the same old same old if they get the chance. Budget increases times 10 just from the conference switch alone.

Sounds great for Texas and OU. The new Big 12-4 exists solely for the purpose of guaranteeing both of those programs a BCS game every year. The voters will not care about their weak schedules so long as they are undefeated or 11-1(see OU still #1 ahead of LSU and Alabama in the coaches poll).

This is a win-win for Texas and Tulane, if true. The 'horns aren't looking for contributors, just a row of chumps to knock down. And, by elevating the Green Wave, you make a dent in LSU's turf however so slightly.

Does Tenn ever lose a recruit to Vandy? I don't follow Vandy recruiting, so I'm just asking. It would probably have a greater impact on baseball or basketball.

While it might be good for Tulane students to play on campus, parking would be a nightmare and I'm not sure the neighborhood would like it very much. There's no room for it on Tulane's campus (yeah, I know the 80k seat Tulane Stadium used to be on their campus where Brown Field is now). Maybe if you bulldozed a few blocks on the other side of Claiborne you could make enough room for a 40k-50k stadium and enough parking with garages. But the state or city isn't going to spend one nickel to build Tulane a stadium.

Nothing wrong with the Dome other than Tulane has no fanbase and can't fill it.

I find this sentiment hilarious coming from a ULL fan. The team is screaming to be noticed, but they are fine with playing second fiddle in the state to yet another program just to put a chink in our armor. You can't make up shite that pathetic.
