No way tu cancels the game with us, and we would see never playing Tech again as proof of a higher being. The SEC is our destiny.

Agreed Spaceball -- Texas and A&M will always play.

Rumor is OU, UTx, TTECH, OSU will all join the Pac 10 in '11 not '12 now. Scheduling nightmares all around are coming.

I would think TAMU and OU would react negatively to Tx trying to make them their bitch.

A&M is playing it cool, but OU seems to be happy being UTx bitch, their lively hood is tied to TX recruiting and if the RRS got canceled due to a split it would hurt them.

Gene Stallings has pretty well sold the SEC to the TAMU president

The Vice President for Marketing & Communications at A&M also has the President's ear. He is a Moo State guy and his wife is an ex-employee of the SEC office.

This is interesting, especially the "marketing" part of it. Thanks for the info.

you people have to realize that UT and OU build their entire football donation/ticket systems around the RRS game. We have 3-6k OVER season ticket prices just to get tickets to that game. Neither program is willing to lose that.

We'd cover cover that with assest sharing and tv money easily. OU would have nothing to worry about and could do what aTm could be doing in Texas...cherry picking texas talent with the promise of playing in the SEC. Texas without OU and aTm would screwed in the PAC10.

and not gonna happen, that would be a PR disaster for the texas AD office. I seriously doubt we would even pursue scheduling tech/ou/osu, but if texas chooses to end that rivalry game it will be a huge black eye for dodds, something he is very averse to.

this is the fascinating thing to me - because this (I think) represents what Texas fans think

WTF do you guys think people around the country tune in to watch Texas for? It's not to see you play Texas Tech - it's to see you play Nebraska and OU (maybe A&M)

Threatening to stop playing teams if they don't kow tow just blows my mind - it's cutting off your nose to spite your face. You benefit enormously by playing OU in a big nationally televised game. It's the only guaranteed game Texas plays every year that everyone tries to watch

UT and OU played for decades before the Big XII existed and they can play each other now if they're in different conferences. OU can still play Okie Lite if they so choose as can UT and TAMU.

UT can end up looking like a real a-hole here if they're not careful. Personally, I'd like it if they did.

Being in different conferences would not end the rivalries. Texas' dumbass pride would.

that's the issue

They are trying to crush everyone anywhere close to them if they blink wrong

the idea of canceling games that are very popular and generate revenue - because another school has a different set of needs is childish and bad business

No matter where they want to go there's no reason to stop playing OU or A&M if you are a good Texas businessman

Hey Salty Ag how do the aggies feel about TX threatening them?

I would piss me off to no end.
