Again, if Crowton calls the Offense (like Jimbo did) and Chavis calls the Defense (like Pelini/Malveto did)

Then what is it that Miles does?
can you not figure this out on your own? here's a hint: he's got to be doing something right to be hanging with the coaching elite. the problem is rantards think that just because there are coordinators, miles has ABSOLUTELY NO INVOLVEMENT with gameplanning and playcalling

I didn't personally attack you, I suggested you are burying your head in the sand. If you view that as an attack, you are way to thin skinned for a board like this.

LSU is 8-8 the last 2 years in the SEC. 1-7 in Nov or something like that. Yes Les won a NC, that was great, how long do you want to rest on that? What, in the 2 years since has you excited? Is 9-3 and the Cap 1 bowl what you want? Personally I'd rather be in the SEC CG and BCS bowls.

To the people who think Miles is the best, it will be another excuse/reason if things go south next year. To those who don't support Miles, probably another reason to bash if he makes another bad hire.

There is a difference between idiot fans that nitpick everything and legit concerns over a coaches ability.

Miles has almost finished his 5 yr and he already has the best 5 yr winning percentage in LSU history, the best 5 yr bowl winning percentage in LSU history, the most top 5 finishes in a row in LSU history, 2 west titles, an SEC title, and a national title and we talking bout "legit concerns over a coaches ability"???

Perhaps you can tell us what other coach in LSU history matches/betters the results of Miles.

Chill out and enjoy the bowl season. I think our 13 ranked Tigers are playing on New Year Day for a shot at their 4th top 10 finish in 5 yrs.

Hit the road with all of that positive talk. All true fans know we back doored into all of those wins, and our ultra talented players were winning only in spite of Miles.

Many around here feel that Miles should never be judged unless everything with the team is under ideal conditions ie 5th year senior starting QBs etc. Does simply having a new DC installing his new system buy an excuse out of next year's lay down games against UF, Bama and whoever else?

Let me ask you this in return - If I were to promise you a coach who would be able to get a NC title or play for one once every five years when everything aligns for him and would be able to get 8-10 wins in the other four years - would you take that deal?

This is almost like the Texas deal for Mack - for comparison sakes. Gets whipped by OU often , sometimes embarrassed by Tech or A&M but won it once and will play for another soon.

ETA: I am not claiming that Miles is that person - merely would like to know if as a fan you would be ok with that scenario.

i've already addressed all that

besides, the negatigers are the ones who want people fired when in actuality they have no idea what's going on inside the program

Because that would ruin their "sky is falling" argument. Anyone who doesn't realize the sky is falling is settling for mediocrity. Didn't you know that?

So Miles is basically "the face" of the LSU program and makes millions to bring in revenue, while hiring coordinators to worry about those pesky X's and O's?

Seems to me that is what you alluding to...

I forgot, we actually beat Arkansas this year, as well as that monster performance against Mississippi State. My bad, I thought that maybe we hadn't progressed as much as some, but I am clearly wrong.

Exactly. How anyone thinks we'll ever win an SEC game again is beyond me. When does Vandy rotate back onto the schedule?

We are 8-8 the last 2 years in the SEC. 1-7 in November. That we went 34-6 from 2005-07 will not help us win games in 2010 and beyond. From 94-98 Tennessee had as good or better of a run. 2 SEC and 1 NC title. From 99-08 they played in 1 more BCS Bowl (99). They did make 3 SEC CG and lost all 3. After losing a shot to play for the title in 2001, they were not elite contender again. From 2000-2002 Miami lost 2 games, 1 at 1 loss #4 Washington by 5 and to Ohio St in the BCS CG by 7 in double OT. in 2003 they went 11-2 and won a BCS bowl. Nice 4 year run. What about after that? 9-3, 9-3, 7-6 . Yet according to some of you they were stupid for firing Coker.

That is completely irrelevant. The state of the program when Miles took over was shall we say a little different from when say Saban or DiNardo or Arnsparger took over.

Let me guess, sarcasm...

Like I said, nothing is wrong. We are still a national powerhouse. Miles will right to ship and we will be playing for at title in 2010. Blah Blah Blah... that is if we can remember when to use timeouts, how to manage getting plays into our QB/Team without delay penalties, and coach up our young talent.

and the only reason we didn't do better this year is because of Perriloux, its not Miles fault we have an inexperienced QB. Jeez, no one can win in the SEC with a true Soph at QB. Hell no Soph QB could except to to do anything in the SEC. right? Plus we are breaking in new coaches. Now one can do anything with new coordinators right?

Yep you got us, there is nothing wrong. We went all the way from 3-5 in the SEC to 5-3. Les is a fricking genius for that massive turn around. You'd have to blind to not see the amazing improvement in the QB and OL play over the course of the 09 season. They just got better and better each week. It was also genius they way they utilized Russell Shepard. I mean we can't really expect a freshman that enrolled in Jan to do anything. Freshman never contribute at all any where.

Nope, no need for concerns at all everything is just fine and dandy, Les has the best 5 year record in LSU history.
