You do not think the LSU offense makes adjustments at all? Nevermind.

What do you think the OL is doing after every series with the white board?

Um, did I say that? No, I didn't.

But I did imply that they don't work very well. They're obviously not very good at it.

Another reason he is not looked at for jobs is his constant job shopping while at Tech. It is what got him fired in part. When you go read what the President and Myers detailed, no AD is going to put up with that. He basically lied to them.

constant job shopping while at Tech.

quote:

Over the next two hours, James remained alone, standing in the darkened media room. At one point, unbeknownst to anyone else, he entered the electrical closet, closed himself inside and used his phone to record a short video of himself. "I'll turn the lights on real quick," he said into the microphone on his phone. "So I got to be . . . I got to be fast." When asked later why he made the video, he responded, "So I could show my friends."

Early that evening, Craig and Marilyn James had just sat down for dinner at a restaurant when Marilyn got a call from Adam. She asked how things went at practice. He reported that he'd been confined again. This time she put her foot down.

"This will stop," she told Adam. Craig looked on.

"You're an adult," Marilyn continued. "But you are still our child. We are going to put a stop to this."

Craig agreed. "We never dreamed he would put him back in dark, solitary confinement," he said.

They decided to approach Tech's chancellor, Kent Hance. Earlier in the season James had met Hance briefly after a game, but he didn't know how to reach him. However, Marilyn had a connection to the vice chairman of Tech's board of trustees, Larry Anders. She called a friend, and within thirty minutes Craig received a call from Anders. He was at a wedding reception in Dallas at the Belo Mansion & Pavilion for Texas governor Rick Perry's son. Kent Hance was there, too. James told Anders that his son had been mistreated twice and he wanted the chancellor to put a stop to it.

After speaking to James, Anders cornered Hance. "We've got a problem," he began.

Hance said he'd handle it. He ducked out of the reception and called Leach. He explained that the James family had made a complaint. The idea that Craig James had gone to the board of regents set Leach off. He decided he'd had enough of Adam James. "I'm going to kick him off the team tonight," Leach said.

"You can't do that," Hance said.

Leach rattled off a series of issues with Craig and Adam James, including the time Adam broke a door at the coach's office.

"Well, hell, you should have kicked him off the team back when he did those things," Hance said. "But you can't do it now."

Leach said in his book his biggest regret was not kicking adam off the team when he should have. He treated him differently because of who his dad was and that was a mistake.

What does the James incident and deposition have to do with him job shopping?

He had interviewed for 3 jobs and he was interviewing right after he signed the agreement.

Myers wrote a letter, I will have to find it. It may be in one of the depositions also. It was part of the cause in court case.

If you search for the Tech firing Leach thread it will be posted in there.

He's not a defensive coach, so who cares? His defensive philosophy can be "You have free reign, DC. Get me the ball", just like Spurrier at UF with Stoops/Strong.

Exactly, just like a defensive coach like Stoops at OU brings in Licoln Riley as OC and give him free reign. Leach doesn't need to be a defensive genius, that's why he has a DC.

Leach is a great coach who is a winner but he definitely wants to do things his way and not deal with the BS of boosters and the admin, similar to Schnellenberger. That style doesn't play well in the SEC or in Texas where the power boosters want to meddle like they did in the failed Les Miles coup attempt.

Out in Wazzu, Leach has more autonomy. It's a shame because I would love to see what he could do at LSU but the big money boosters would never go for it.

Really the only cat in the SEC who gets away with dissing boosters is Saban, because he's got the trophies to get them to know their role and shut the hell up.

Lincoln Riley was a coach under leach and look at what he's doing right now at Oklahoma.

The Big 12 is full of OCs and HCs who learned under Leach know how to run productive offenses. Leach may be a little bit crazy but he is an offensive genius for sure.

Look at all of Leach's guys out there:
Dana Holgorsen - WVU HC
Sonny Cumbie - TCU OC
Lincoln Riley - OU OC
Sonny Dykes - Cal HC
Tony Franklin - Cal OC
Kliff Kingsbury - TT HC
Art Briles - Baylor HC
Mark Mangino - Kansas HC
and the list goes on.

They are in demand just like Saban's guys and Bear's guys were.

Who is beating down the door trying offering Miles' guys head coaching jobs? Jimbo doesn't count because he was a Saban guy. Seriously.

Leach is smart and innovative and the coaches that learned from him know how to run an offense. If only Miles would ditch the cadaver in the press box, hire someone fresh from the Leach tree and let him call the plays.

He is a Bill Snyder guy.

I thought your D played pretty good ball against SC and Stanford, considering how little rest they get.

Read these and you can tell how Tech felt that Leach violated the contract and were ready to let him go at some point.

He also was reprimanded for going 400k over budget in 02/03? and refused to play by the rules Myers set forth.

That is one weird dude despite his offensive success. My guess is his style would be a difficult sell to many Ad's and Boards.
