Great gif. Looks like he is wanting insight from the Mother Ship as to which play to call next

Yeah, like he was seeking guidance from the football gods.

I think that was the score to tie the game and the assistant wanted to go for two to ice it, but Leach pretty much said frick it we're beating them in overtime.

Wazzou has what? 3 losses this yr? Lost the last game with a bsckup qb and a few weeks earlier csme within a missed fg of beating stanford. Wazzou was a perrienal botton feeder before leach

One decent season does not make you a force in the conference.

Boosters care about wins and if your school can afford a half decent D cordinator. Leach could be one of the best. Every where he's gone he's done it with terrible talent 2 and 3 stars. Imagine what he could do with 8 four stars every recruiting

Remember when he beat les miles at Oklahoma state 3 out of 4 times their teams played each other?

Oh yeah, and he scored 49,49,49, and 31 points against les miles defense.

Because he is basically a 7-8 win guy most of the time and does not care a thing about defense. He will turn a really bad program around but will only get them so far. Having said that as a turn around artist there a lot of programs that need the quick fix to get back to 500. Maybe SMU, Tulane for example.

Eh, Wazzou's defense has been pretty good from the games I watched.

And im sure having 2-3 star recruits has something to do with it as well.

Watch the film "Patton".

If you want to sit in the big chair and get the big commands, you need to be a great leader of men, a great tactician, and a great politician. Patton was not a great politician. Neither is Leach.

Patton wasn't dependent on booster interaction to continue funding his program. Also, once the war was all but decided, they pretty much sidelined him.

For what it's worth, he ignored that assistant coach and kicked the extra point to put it into overtime, and went on to win.

The defense is much improved this year because of their 1st year DC, former Mizzou assistant (and Gary Pinkel's nephew) Alex Grinch.

Would love to see Leach bring Air Raid to Columbia along with Grinch. I know some folks that are pretty good friends with the family, and in talking with them it was pretty funny how Leach has handled the defense. As some have said, he is completely hands off and wants zero to do with gameplanning, scouting, etc. His whole focus is on the offense. Basically his goals for the defense are:

Phase 1: Get me the damn ball.
Phase 2:
Phase 3: Profit!

If they hadn't choked away their first game to an FCS team, they'd be 9-3. Lost by 6 at Cal and 2 vs Stanford and won on the road at UCLA. They're legit.

and 2 vs Stanford

that games still pisses me off. kicker makes FIVE field goals in the game and misses the game winning one at the end that would have won it by one.

it's truly AMAZING what leach has done at Wazzu with the players he has there. He flew down to meet with jacob eason recently. imagine if he had 4 and 5 star players in the south... he's got luke falk in the heisman discussion.

luke falk! who had all of 2 offers from schools:
LINK

2015 Season
418-591
4266 yards
70.7%
7.22 per attempt
36 TD's
8 int's

and that's playing only in 11 games. he took a NOBODY from utah and developed him into shredding the PAC 12.

ETA: Mike Leach won co-coach of the year for the pac 12
