Texas sabotaged Charlie Strong before he stepped on campus because everyone didn't buy in

Jesus Christ, dude, the university president and athletic director both went to Tulsa to talk the hotshot offensive coordinator into coming to Austin, and gave him and his line coach guaranteed multimillion dollar contracts (meaning the buyout for Strong will be more than $10 million).

This sour grapes from LSU fans (as well as the racial pot-stirring) is VERY unbecoming.

Actually, I heard that he had a hard time getting some of the hires he wanted, because one of the heads didn't like him. The entire booster camp was definitely not on board.

This is entirely true. The hires were harder because they figured he'd be fired (eventually).

But that does not equate to sabotage, which is what I was commenting on. I am not aware of boosters telling recruits to go play for other schools or coaches. THAT is sabotage, and that did not happen (that I am aware of).

The monetary support never wavered. That is evident by giving two relatively unproven coaches (who have turned out to be worth it) several million dollars, guaranteed, to run the offense for a defensive coaching specialist who's already paid $5 million per year.

No question Strong's potential termination carries elements of racism. Only an intellectually dishonest person would claim otherwise.

As others have noted, Strong's hiring was met with contempt by some of the most influential boosters. One in particular used thinly veiled "hey boy" language in describing the selection.

Strong had had to deal with this dynamic while at the same time fixing a program that was iddntified as a train wreck by all UT faithfull

Texas will do what they want and follow their standard process of turning to the PR department

Charlie Strong has far more intrgrity than his current employer. I hope that is plain to all

And I hope everyone reading your shitty comment notices the "integrity" of your average, run-of-the-mill, inferiority complex-laden aggie football fan. You've showed your arse from coast to coast.

This is a great sentence.

an we all agree to not want to fire our new coach after 2.3 seasons at the helm?

So LSU would accept 6-7, 5-7, 2-2? While paying that cost $5M+?

Get off your high horse. This is big boy football. You produce or get fired. Period.
