d agree with you, but if we are in the same boat as Texas, hiring a coach that is known for one specific thing (defense) and his defense is giving up 48 pts a game in his 3rd year then it's time to move on.

LSU cannot afford to sign coaches for big money and then fire them. Think about how that plays out on signing day?

Coach signs 2-year deal, player doesn't even know if the coach will be there halfway through his career. Why would anyone go to that school? Why would any player care about a coaching relationship if they know their coach is going to get fired?

Now, take into consideration that LSU's roster is simply loaded with NFL talent at every position and no, there is no time for a learning curve.

False, there are a LOT of factors at work to be considered before making a statement. Besides, you wouldn't even know what its like to coach a team like LSU with the players, so you really aren't qualified to say how easy it is or not. I tend to think there's some adjustment time. Don't be so obtuse.

Under Strong, Texas has gone 6-7, 5-7, and are now 2-2. After LSU just fired Miles midseason, you mean to tell me that LSU fans would not be calling for his head had Strong done this at LSU and not Texas?

Nope. LSU gave Les Miles 12 YEARS, baw.

Lets not act like this is the same thing. Texas wasn't exactly flush with talent and organization when Strong walked in. Charlie Strong hasn't even been the coach for 3 whole years.

LES MILES situation =/= Charlie Strong

They should? Saban was 8-5 in his 3rd season at LSU. That's not exactly inspiring.

This asshat doesn't even post - CHECK

This asshat is a UT homer - CHECK

Frick this asshat - Flame retardant drawers on

I think the point is this. Some of these LSU fans, who are turning into the BLM of college football, think that they are the reason the SEC is what it is. They put themselves on the same plane as Alabama, Georgia and Florida when they actually belong somewhere between there and Mizzou and Vanderbilt. I love me some LSU foosball but JHC fellas, you're not the reason the game is played.

If LSU "throws the bank" at Herman his agent will simply pick up the phone and tell every other school looking that money is on the table. UT can and will outspend LSU.

"LSU alone has the talent to restock the NFL" but has to play a murderers row to get to a playoff game. UT has to win the Big12.

"Strong should get his 4 years" - with tens of millions of dollars in play aint nobody got not time for "fairness" BS, please! What have you done lately?

LSU needs to go ahead and make a contingency plan because if UT makes the call to drop Strong then so be it. You will see a plane land in B freakin R with horns on the hood to pick up Herman if need be and the protest lines won't make a bit of difference!

If a coach decides to go to UT over LSU because UT is easier to win at, have at him. I don't want a coach who is too scared to play our schedule anyway.

Not saying some of your other points aren't valid, but this one is a bit silly, imo.

LSU is currently 4th in all time wins in the conference, id hardly call that below the plane as you said. This isn't the pussy Big 12 where there's only 2 historically good teams.

What has Texas done lately?

Nothing. CHECK

Texas might experience a full decade of mediocrity.

Check the NFL rosters, baw. Where's Texas at? Whoops.

Great, LSU has a great talent base, a talent rich state to pick from, lots of coaches could come in there and be fine. Texas on the other hand....talent deficit, toxic athletic department, impatient fan base trying to fire coaches after two years. Yikes, what a mess.

Good luck against OU though. :)

In his 3rd season he was coming off an SEC Championship and a Sugar Bowl win, and would go on to win the National Championship the year after that.

You seem to be elevating your program quite a bit, too. Funny how they bites you in the arse

i don't care about that. Tom Herman isn't a guarantee to be successful at a major program.

My worry is that LSU fans will expect a new coach to win a NC in 3 years and they'll want to fire him if he doesn't. Then it starts a bad precedent and you have a tough time hiring a respectable coach. And, a lot of folks at Texas never supported Charlie Strong 100%. I don't want to see that at LSU. I'd like to see people buy in, support the program, and give the new coach 4 years to prove himself.

This is way too rational and intelligent for LSU fans.

That's the fake narrative of the Les Miles fan club talking. How does it go? "The ONLY reason people wanted Miles gone is because he didn't win a championship every year!" No doubt you can find a few outliers to hold up as evidence of this but for the vast majority it was simply not the case. Miles was fired because of the slow downward spiral of the program over several years, the sloppy play, the appearance of being unprepared especially for big games, etc. etc. etc. There's not a coach in the nation who didn't see this coming. Go back and read the comments from SEC coaches regarding Miles when they were able to do so anonymously. LINK
You're getting alarmed by something which has never happened at LSU.

Are all UT fans are stupid enough to say Florida and Georgia are on the same plane with Alabama?

LSU isn't on Alabama's plane right now, but UF and UGA are behind us.
