I have been out of the loop a little. Does he promote from within or does he go after someone else?

We all know he is actually the DC, but whom will he tap to be his "game day", play-calling DC?

he should see who will pay him to do it.

Hey in 2 years you are in line for HC gigs. What is that worth to you?

I figured it would be Pruitt. While Saban was the mastermind behind the defense, Smart appeared to carry a lot of water on the sidelines during the games. It will be an interesting hire because Saban will have to invest a lot of energy into getting the next guy to the point of trust that he obviously has with Smart.

If I were Saban I'd look for a young up and coming DC in the AAC or something.

Nobody. He's had enough at Bama. He'll take this opportunity to move on to new challenges elsewhere.
