Saban is NOT....I repeat NOT going to the NFL but is going to live in Texas though.

Saban is the next coach at the University of Texas.

Ssban is one of those unique personalities that would not know what to do if he wasn't coaching football. From what I have heard over the years, he's not a big family guy, an occasional weekend at his Georgia lake house and a little golf is all he needs to recharge. He doesn't have the personality that comes across well as a TV guy so I am afraid the SEC is stuck with him for a number of years to come.

Has any coach won a national championship at 3 different schools? He's just enough of a narcissist to think about it.

Let's see Cleveland has never won a championship in ANY sport. I would go out on a limb and say Saban with his arrogance and fire would like to add that opportunity to his resume. Just my 2 cents.

Saban is the only coach to have done it at two different schools, so no, it hasn't been done at three different schools yet. Meyeray eventually join him in the club of coaches winning it all at two different schools, but for now he's the only one to have ever done it.

I think he stays at bama. He's not going to the browns or longhorns. Hopefully Dallas or the jets can lure him away from bama but I don't think so

This will be the ONLY reason imo. He knows he is viewed as a failure in the NFL I think sooner or later he will make another attempt in the NFL to solidfy his name.

I wonder if the fact that Carroll gave the NFL another shot and is having some success in Seattle might make Saban think he could do the same given the right situation.

That is a very fair statement. His ego is to big to not try it again.

for the most part, I think he stays

but, I also believe, that of all the potential jobs in the NFL, the Philly job has to be most intriguing to him

He'd never be able to handle the egos in Philly. Bullying wouldn't go over very well there.

At 61 Saban is more concerned about legacy, I would imagine. Priorities change as one gets older. How you will be remembered becomes more important. He has 7-12 years of coaching remaining. He can win it all at bama 2-4 more times and go down as the greatest ever. Or start all over for money, hope all the ingredients come together in 3 years, and be known as a hired gun when hes gone.

Money will not be reason IF he were to ever leave, which I don't think he does at this point in his career, despite how desperately some people want it to happen.

While I do believe Little Nicky retires an elephant, I feel like its naive of anyone to think that his ego will not claw at him at some point to give it another shot. It's the only thing he hasn't been successful at (coaching wise). I don't think if it happens it will be about money.

100% agree. Hell bama boosters would come up with $10 mil a year if thats what it took.

IF Saban leaves (which i doubt) it damn sure won't be to the cowboys. No way would he want to deal with Jerrah. He would demand full control over all football operations, and thats not something Jerrah is going to relinquish.
