the Fresno St. job would be a great gig for him.

he already has ties in Cali.
it's a school you can win at (Pat Hill did it), and build a resume to land at a bigger school.

I cann't see O leaving LSU, if he is not hired full time HC, like he did with S.Cal. There he was snubbed, treated like shite by Hayden who was a big part of the USC country club boosters. He may well follow Kiffen, as they've coached together 3 different times, twice at USC & then again at UT. I just do not want him recruiting against LSU. So, in the perfect world, he would accept that he was given a fair chance & accept his old role back.If the new HC wants him.

Coach O ain't going anywhere regardless of the outcome of this coaching search. He loves LSU and would only take a job as a HC at a major program. He won't be getting that offer without being a DC or a full time HC successfully somewhere first.

If he leaves for another job that isn't a headcoaching position, then he never "loved" LSU like he and all of his pundits claim. That is if the new HC wants to retain him(which it would be silly not to)

Maybe

Maybe. If I were the new head coach I wouldn't want him unless it was clear he was happy with the position of DL/RC. If there were any uncertainty with that I wouldn't keep him - because coach cohesion would be more important than losing a great recruiter.

I could too as the D-LINE coach.

I would make sure the next head coach, Herman or Fischer or whoever, will know that Coach O will be the DC and Assistant Head Coach. That way Coach may save some face and it will allow him to stay in Louisiana.

You sir, are a special kind of stupid. You do realize he's probably even less qualified as a DC than he is a HC?

Wait, nvm.

Month long fishing trip.
Followed by the car dealership.
The back to recruiting and coaching our DL with hopefully Pete Jenkins unless he packs up to go home.
