Im having a hard time figuring out what relevant power 5 school would give CEO the HC job.

I could see DC or DL coach but rumor was last few year that CEO didnt want the DC job at LSU and would rather stay just DL.

So if he doesnt get the HC job then I think he will just settle for what he gets at LSU so he and his family can stay in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Considering Syracuse didn't even interview him when he expressed interest I'm not sure.

He'd take some time off, instead of trying to get a lower HC job or even a coordinator position to boost his resume

Should have held on to Les a few more weeks and fired him after AL if need be, no reason to let O try to lay claim to the job and have an "audition", if we would have waited, could have given the interim to Aranda and OC to Craig, then have a clean coach search without O in the way. No reason to have to start an official Coaching search in early October, all the good targets are busy. When O does not get the HC, he will just have extra motivation to recruit against LSU whereever he is and with him being the interim HC we gave him all the TV time as well to increase his presence/reputaion.

I don't know, but he might stay on. He really hurt himself not scoring a single point vs Bama

If he can objectively look in the mirror and realize what a hit his stock took, he might be willing to stay on. Just for the possibility of making the playoffs under the next coach??

Hes never been offered a P5 HC or a DC before, so I'm not so sure he would now

A P5 school will not hire O. And I don't think a mid-major would either, but there's a chance.

If he loves LSU, gets paid very well, is our recruiting guru, we are able to get an established HC like Jimbo, just stay O, swallow a bit of pride.

He's not getting another head coaching job that isn't LSU, which should tell you why he shouldn't get the job at LSU. Might get pissy and take a DL spot somewhere else like he did when Southern Cal rightfully went in another direction a few years ago.

He won't be a head coach next season. He will probably follow Kiffin as Asst. Head Coach. I don't think he wants to go to a mid major or small program to be a head coach.

I would make sure the next head coach, Herman or Fischer or whoever, will know that Coach O will be the DC and Assistant Head Coach. That way Coach may save some face and it will allow him to stay in Louisiana.

I don't know about that. If I were him I would go to a job in Texas if available, somewhere like a UTEP. With his recruiting ability he'll be able to steal a couple of 4* recruits every year and build his team off of those guys and the underrated 3* recruits that Texas, TAMU and Tech don't want.

I can't blame him for campaigning so hard for the LSU job but I wonder why he wouldn't campaign as tenaciously for another job in a conference where his teams would win simply on talent.

Don't know, but it would definitely suck if some other SEC school hired him.

Nowhere as a head coach, because who is calling? It is crazy that he is even considered at LSU.

Is this sarcasm? I'm having trouble telling around here.

If he wants to stay in Louisiana ULL might hire him. Hud is destroying that program and obviously can't recruit very well.

Otherwise he may as well stay put or follow his good buddy Lane Kiffin to wherever if he gets a HC job. No other P5 school will hire him; the Alabama game was supposed to be his chance to prove he was moving the team in a different direction. What happened was the most uninspired, disgusting Les Miles-like offensive performance I've ever seen.
