Don't know the level of interest from Justine or Chad. But those are three names they are looking at.

Seems like Va Tech is a lateral move from Arizona.

I don't see Chad Morris leaving SMU that early, when he's a good shot at turning it around. Give it 3-4 more seasons, and Morris knows he will have much better offers on the table. Plus his two signature attributes are his offense and his extremely deep Texas connections. It just doesn't make sense for him or Tech.

I'm a big Rich Rod fan and think he'd do a good job. He's also really familiar recruiting the area. They could do much worse.

I would take Fuente or Rich Rod of those 3. Morris is still technically unproven for now.

Fuente makes more sense at VT than he does at Carolina, I think. I could see him taking that job.

Maybe, maybe not. Get back to the geographical territory where he cut his teeth and get access to Fl recruiting. Plus the ACC division that VaTech is in is alot easier than the PAC-12 south.

How? VT's been a top 20 program for the last 20 years.

The VA Tech people say that Justin Fuente is their top choice.

This guy would dominate the ACC.

SMU sucked this year. They might win two games all season. Too early for Chad Morris.

no shite right? i dont get how these first year coaches who have yet to prove themselves just get a pass based on their name

they have had a god awful year including getting their arse beat on homecoming by a FCS team

can the guy win 5-6 games first before he goes in the hall of fame?

The infatuation with Morris goes back to when he was the OC at Clemson he said he would love to the coach at VT when Beamer retired.

He was also instrumental in getting Michael Brewer to come to VT after transferring from Texas Tech.

All that being said, I still say Whitlock brings in someone that is not even being mentioned as a possibility.

UNC's head coach is said to be a strong candidate for VA Tech and Rich Rod not a candidate.

I'm sure there will be more names to pop up since we are getting closer to the end of the season when interviews and offers will be going out and all of the counter offers go out.

I don't know if Rich Rod is a good fit but I would think he will get some job offers this year. A lot of coaches are going to get paid this year.

Wait what? The Clemson OC was instrumental in getting a QB to transfer from Texas Tech to Virginia Tech? That seems all sorts of strange.
