Kinda sounds like Herman said Thanks but no thanks

As much as I want you to be right, this kind of sounds like Texas wants to calm down with the coaching search until after Strong is officially gone.

With the hit they took this week in the PR department, it wouldn't look good if shite was coming out that they were pursuing a coach while Strong is still there.

I think it's very possible they just shut things down for now. I hope I'm wrong.

But jimbo was done last year.

If that is the case then he is a total decoy this year. The word last year also was he, Jimbo, upped the deal. The number was going allegedly up. Which would explain why politics stepped in.

They won't keep Strong, but I could see someone like Chip Kelly or the other Harbaugh wanting to go to Austin

All part of the perception that was fed and obviously you bought in. Deal looked bad because the state is broke. Not many people would have understood the money being thrown around in a broke state.

Mcraven wants Fenves to flex his muscles and get control of the situation which means they will fire Strong when Fenves says so

I think the player boycott talk shook them up and boosters talking to Herman on their own pissed them off

I didn't say i bought in. The word also was politics stepped in. I also didn't buy that. It looked more like damage control. I'm not saying you are not correct but i have learned never believe what is told. It is always designed to direct thought. It's definitely possible that story is true. I just will never buy what the lead story is, it's usually crap.

Sounds like Strong is staying.

No way! The players threatened to boycott the TCU game if Strong was not the coach for it, so the admin is letting him stay for that game and possibly the bowl game but he will be fired after the TCU game.

Hornsports and Texas' 247 media guys are totally at odds with one another, it seems. giving two pretty different takes on the situation

I'll trust the person that works with the coaches directly. When she says something it's usually spot on.

Herman to LSU and Strong stays on at UT until Saban is done in the playoffs. It's why Strong has not been "officially" let go yet. They don't want to go possibly 50-60 days with no coach and all the shitstorm that comes with that. The player revolt is a head fake.

Honestly, i wish i had your faith in people. I don't. I do some contract negotiating for a living and it's all bull shite. You always know your number going in on the deal. You always keep the other side thinking it's something different. I sure as hell hope these people aren't this bad.

Maybe the person that works in the athletic building everyday knows nothing. Hell I don't know. But I would bet money it's spot on info.

Who is better than Strong? Who is available better than the coach with the worst winning % in the century+ history of Longhorn Football?

Everyone.
