This says more about the sad state of coaching in the SEC outside of Saban more than anything else.

Texas is such a hot mess. It'll take more than some fancy coaching to right that ship. I got a feeling Herman will be regretting this move in about 12 months.

His players that he just ditched probably feel the same way. Hope that last kiss was special

And I bet you would be saying "frick their feelings" had he come to LSU.

They'll have a good chance to win the Big 12 in his first year.

I think he's actually from Ohio, went to college in California, and first coached as a ga at Texas.

A hot mess that made a home run hire. I'm sure Herman will get doubted and shite on, but that's only because he's not wearing a purple and gold tie.

Texas is in good shape if they let the coach alone to do his job. There's talent on that team and talent in that state. Strong cleaned house so the hard part is done.

Not at all. It sucks that coaches leave the way they do.

The guy spent grew as a coach in texas. Obviously he is comfortable there. I'm not gonna hate him if that's the job he wanted.

As an alumnus of LSU and a Texas native, I'll just say LSU has become a complete joke in the last 3-5 years. Top to bottom, academically and athletically. Pretty embarrassing really. We're now the "cute" school in the south with the water boy coach because nobody wanted to come here. That's the cold hard truth.

What bowl game is texas going to? Charlie Strong would've won more with LSU talent and the football culture here. If LSU played Texas' schedule they'd probably be in the freaking playoffs. Academics at UT are very good, but LSU and their reputation in most fields are not looked at as embarrassing. I think what you're saying is crap. If Texas had as much balls as they do money and boosters, they'd be a contender no matter who the coach is, was or will be. UT athletics is like a private high school with politics and money determining the culture instead of toughness and discipline. LSU will be ok. Texas will continue to fight over who has the most influence on the program.

During the press conf, the UT president said Herman accepted the job, then they told Strong he was gone.
