Only thing that's changed is Mack has stepped down? Saban saying all the things he's said doesn't change your opinion at all? Take off your blinders because they're making you sound stupid as frick.

national pundits

A Texas grad who writes for a Texas newspaper who is making excuses for his dysfunctional athletic department is suddenly a national pundit?

Serious question. What year did they discontinue public education in Louisiana?

I can't MAKE anything happen, I just think you can't rule out saban at this point, especially with the job being officially open as of today.

Nope. Because he is honest all the time, Amirite?
if you're referring to the last 8 years, then yes, you are correct.

He's been a man of his word for 8 solid years. It's time to stop judging him a liar. It's making you look like an a-hole.

He is retiring at Alabama. Please get over it.

quote:

A chronology of comments about Nick Saban taking the head coaching job at Alabama:

Nov. 27:
Saban: "When I was in college it was always about coming to the pros. This is the challenge I wanted. I had a good college job. Why would I have left that if I was going to be interested in other college jobs?

"I took this as a challenge. We certainly haven't seen this through and gotten where we want to go and finished the job here, so why would I be interested in something else?"

Dec. 5:
Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga (after giving Saban a vote of confidence): "I am completely sold on Nick Saban. I would admit we made a mistake if we did make a mistake, but I firmly believe in Nick Saban."

Dec. 7:
Saban: "I'm flattered that they may have been interested in me, but it never really progressed, because we just never let it progress."

Dec. 21:
Saban: "I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach. ... I don't control what people say. I don't control what people put on dot-com or anything else. So I'm just telling you there's no significance, in my opinion, about this, about me, about any interest that I have in anything other than being the coach here."

Dec. 27:
Saban: "I'm just making a rule to never comment on something like that again because every time you comment on it, it just makes for another story. So I'm not going to comment on it five years from now, and I'm not going to comment on it next week."

Jan. 4:
Saban: "What I realized in the last two years is that we love college coaching because of the ability that it gives you to affect people, young people. ... If I knew that my heart was someplace else in what I wanted to do, I don't think it would be fair to the [Dolphins] organization if I stayed."

1. Nick Saban, Alabama

Yes, yes, I know Saban has said a million times that he's not going to be the next coach at Texas.

And I know that Saban just agreed to an extension and said he'd spend the rest of his career at Alabama.

Thank God Saban has never lied about a coaching job before.

He's got no buyout.

Why not still try to hire him now that there's finally no coach at Texas?

Can you imagine the reaction in the state of Alabama if Saban's last game was the loss to Auburn? The state would burn.

Fuhrman’s odds: 2-1. I originally posted on Twitter that he should be 10-1. Upon further investigation, it appears there’s a lot more noise about Nick considering a move away from Tuscaloosa, meaning a drastic requirement was needed. We all know the story about his wife looking for a place in Austin earlier this fall. Clearly that was just for their potential retirement, right?

Stories have surfaced about Saban’s financial security as well given some wayward real estate investments tied to SEC boosters. He’s accomplished all he can at Alabama in my opinion. Why not bring another proud program back to the zenith of college football for your final career achievement?

Go back and read the post for context. The guy I was referring to basically said that Saban was lying in his negotiations with Alabama by having Sexton say that Texas was a job he would leave for. I was replying to that.

Saban never lies now, according to you.
