Herman will have NFL teams sniffing around every year.

I don't think so.

College Coaches have a terrible track record in the NFL

Outside Pete Carroll who had been an NFL head coach 2 times before.

Urban is basically the older version of Herman and he hasn't been courted by th eNFL.

Further, herman has 0 experience in the NFL and has spent his entire career at the college level.

Furthermore, you don't hire based on "what if's"...Someone on here the other day wanted a coach based on a particular recruit. We really need to stop thinking Jimbo is the only option. You can bookmark this now, he is Miles 2.0. We need to go in a different direction, TOM HERMAN!!

Not sure where everyone has gotten to this idea that Herman is THAT much better if a Head Coach than Jimbo.

I'll agree they are both great coaches, but if you watched the Peach Bowl last bowl season you will understand why people are drooling over Tom Herman. Or just watch the OU vs UH game this season. OR the Louisville vs FSU game. Just a few examples why people are jumping to Herman as their go to. Although either will likely do well at LSU.

possibly but I feel like Herman could have an Urban type effect when he comes into the SEC.

I believe Jimbo would do well, but I think Herman will dominate.

I'm just telling you right now that people will wonder why we ever wanted Jimbo over Herman after just his first year here.

or maybe we remain in Bama and Sabans shadow and don't win any

If you think Saban is coaching until he's 70, you've fallen on your head. Go listen to the interview Moscona did with Pete Jenkins. Saban brought in Pete at LSU. Pete worked for him for 2 years and told him he loved him, but at 65 years old, he wasn't going to keep working 48 weekends out of the year with only 4 weekends off. Saban didn't fully understand, but he was ok with it. He and Saban have remained friends. Saban is Pete's age now when Pete left him. He spoke to Pete at the end of last year and told him he finally understood what he meant about not wanting to keep up at that pace. Saban told him he felt really tired after last year.

The optics of LSU walking in and taking the Florida State head coach cannot be understated - it would be huge for the LSU brand on a national level, and would affect everything from recruiting, donations, and perception for years to come.

Has Herman faced ANY adversity yet? Seems to have walked into great situations

It blows my mind that so many would take an unproven, flavor of the month coach like Tom Herman over a well seasoned, proven coach that would retire here like Jimbo Fisher.

And Herman wouldn't retire here because....why?

His eyes would always be looking west, and THAT'S if we're lucky.

Based on what? The one year he spent as a GA at Texas?

That's what he'd be walking into at LSU.

I am not sure why anyone would want to coach in the NFL over College.

Not having to beg 18 year olds to come play for you is a good reason.
