What did you call the loss to a mediocre Florida team in 2003 if not embarassing and confounding?
Good point. Losing to a mediocre Florida team with a freshman QB was rough, but there were extenuating circumstances around that game. I guess I don't consider it on the order of UAB or Georgia '04.

I agree that it probably wasn't as bad as the UAB game or the 04 Georgia, game, but what were the extenuating circumstances for a virtually nonexistent offense that day?

And let's go ahead and throw in that call at the end of this year's Auburn win.
There is nothing extraordinary about this play except the catch. No catch=3 or 4 seconds on the clock and a field goal. it was a great call that worked...had it not worked in no way would it have cost the game

but how can you forgive him for any of his extraordinary blunders?
Because ever coach loses games he probably should not.
If Saban had stayed we may have lost fewer games maybe more, possible the same number, but different games. we would not be 39-0, that's for sure.

Matt Mauck inexplicably had the worst game of his career...? Both of our safeties were hurt as I remember as well, I mean Chris Leak looked halfway decent for goodness' sakes.

Florida scored 16 points. How many points did LSU average in 2003. Even with the injured safeties, and Leak playing a good game, the problem with the offense, and of course Mauck had a bad game, but it was a bad loss and nearly cost LSU a chance at the NC.

Until Miles goes 60 - 0 I'm still out on how well he can coach. Beating Spurrier, Saban, Myers, and playing in the Champ. proves nothing.
Nope! even that wouldn't do it...we'd be complaining that he didn't win by enough points...everyone would be saying saban or carroll or anyone else would have scored more points in each game.
it really baffles me what everyone has against les miles. whenever there is a college coach for lays an egg in the lost column for his entire career...then i will say "damn les sucked he could have done better"

Why are those excuses good for Saban but not Miles?
Did we not have injuries against Arkansas? Wasn't Flynn horrible in the first half of that game?

No, They would complain about the timeout before half time. Funny no one remembers Fla. not calling time out at the end of the came this year sooner. They might have had a chance to come back. But they do have the better coach and all.

I'm not trying to defend Saban at all. I'm having a debate (I think) about why I didn't include Florida 2003 under my header of embarrassing Saban losses.
