Nah, by the time we could know, will be late in recruiting and would hurt the program at first. Would really hurt if there is no one decent available to accept said job in January.

If Miles actually wins another National Championship, the merchandise sales will easily pay for the raise.
That being said, Miles is not winning the SEC West let alone the playoffs with his current offense and QB production.

Actually, I think he contract reads "Highest paid by 1 dollar"

Saban might be getting a big raise

Hay John Hager. I think you maybe wrong about Miles being the second choice. Miles has alredy told Michigan he wouldn't be a second or third choice for the coaching job.

They have to offer him more than what "little brother" Michigan St is paying their coach at 5.6+ per year (he's second only to CNS) and CUM at #6 making 4.5+. 4 of the top ten highest paid coaches are in the BIG.

coaching salaries

If another SEC West school tried to bring in someone that people consider a "home run", they would have to offer similar money (more than Saban).

$8M was absolutely not expected. Mich has been cheap for a long long long long time.

miles is no2 from the get go. that is why he was quiet before sunday. never dispel the rumors.

sunday after 49er was out of playoff, things are moving fast. jh is 90% to come back to aa. that is why miles came out and said michigan never contacted him. but he does not allow video, audio so he still leave the door open.

miles is correct. michigan never contacted him.

the hiring agent, the former michigan coach, was contacting people before michigan sign the contract. so miles was contacted by a guy volunteering working for michigan, not michigan.

after michigan hired the agent so the agent will represent michigan officially from that day. they will be paid hansomely to compensate the effort before they were hired formally. they will not talk to miled until it is miles' turn.

No bidding war? Horsefeathers!

You dont offer $8M in this situation if you arent prepared to negotiate

Serious question...is English your second language? Your posts are pretty hard to read.

multiple nfl teams are interested in jh.

but those teams are bad teams.

michigan put the money on the table and ask every um player, coach to beg him to come back home. if this can not make jh come back, michigan will move on.

for jh, if he stay in nfl, he will work with bad teams. he may get fired in three years if things not work out. look at raiders, jets, that not easy jobs. Even belichick was fired once in Cleveland, almost fired in boston before drew got hurt and tom brady played.

49ers roster is great and the gm is top 3. if you can not win a superbowl there, how can you win it with jets, raiders ? Someone may think jh already peaked in nfl.
